For many friends who like road trips, the Sichuan-Tibet Line is a very familiar and worthy route. There are many unexpected beautiful scenery along the route, and there are many small cities scattered along the route. You will also encounter various unpredictable climate environments. The following introduces the best route map of the Sichuan-Tibet Line.

1. Sichuan into Qinghai and out of Qinghai

When traveling to Tibet in 2018, in order to avoid turning back, we usually enter through the "Sichuan-Tibet Line" and leave through the "Qinghai-Tibet Line". Travel friends call this route simply "Kawazu Hatsuharu". The whole journey is about 5,000 kilometers and takes about 16 days of walking and driving. Spanning Sichuan, Tibet, Qinghai and Xining, it is China's longest, most charming and culturally diverse scenic boulevard.

In the picture below, the red line is National Highway 318, which is the Sichuan-Tibet Line; the cyan line is National Highway 109, which is the Qinghai-Tibet Line; and the purple line is National Highway 213, also known as Gannan County.

2. Sichuan-Tibet North-South Line

The Sichuan-Tibet Highway is referred to as the Sichuan-Tibet Line. The route from Sichuan to Tibet is not only National Highway 318, but also National Highway 317. National Highway 38 has a lower altitude, more colorful scenery and better road conditions, making it suitable for travelers traveling to Tibet for the first time. In comparison, the self-driving environment on National Highway 318 is much harsher and is more suitable for experienced friends who drive four-wheel drive off-road vehicles.

As shown in the picture below, the red line is National Highway 318, called the southern Sichuan-Tibet Line; the cyan line is National Highway 317, called the northern line of the Sichuan-Tibet Line. Most hikers drive to Tibet by themselves, taking National Highway 318.

3. Direct access from Chengdu to Daocheng Yading

The Sichuan-Tibet Line and Tibet have always been the dream of hiking enthusiasts. But sometimes due to lack of time, I can only go to Aden, Daocheng, Western Sichuan. The shortest distance from Yading to Chengdu is about 1,700 kilometers, which takes about 2 days one way and about 5 days round trip.

Daoyading, known as the "Soul of Shangri-La", is divided into: Yading Village, Daocheng County, Garze Prefecture, Sichuan Province. In the eyes of foreign travelers, Daocheng Aden is the last piece of pure land on the aqua blue planet. The scenery is pristine and pure. When you visit Aden, your view is like walking in paradise.

4. The altitude of the Xinjiang-Tibet line

Tibet is so big that even if you travel in Tibet 365 days a year, you will not be able to see half of the scenery in Tibet. In addition to regular routes, there are many tourist routes in Tibet. For example, Xinjiang-Tibet Line, Yunnan-Tibet Line, Iced Tea, Ngari Grand Ring Line, Everest Namtso 5-day tour.

The following lines will not be introduced in detail for you. The last few pictures are the elevations of the main tourist ring lines in Tibet, including the 318 Sichuan-Tibet Line, the 317 Sichuan-Tibet Line, the Qinghai-Tibet Line, and the Xinjiang-Tibet Line.
