It starts from Fangshan Bin (Jingtongjiao River) in the west and ends south of the Anshuo River line in the east. There is Eluanbi at the south end and Maobitou at the west. Nanjing is composed of raised coral reefs. Coral reefs can be seen everywhere here. The blue sea, blue sky, black coral reefs, and white sandy beaches make up the charming scenery here. In 2008, due to the great success of "Cape No. 7", it became famous and became a new tourist attraction. Landform: The altitude of Hengchun Peninsula is 120 to 190 meters, and the new coral reef is also 10 meters high. Most of them are cliffs with a fringe reef in front. The tail end of the Central Mountain Range runs through it, and the stream flows east and west. There is a longitudinal valley about 11.5 kilometers long on the southwest side, with Hengchun Town in the middle. The peninsula is also a tourist attraction and is famous for the Kenting "National" Park. However, the area is often hit by typhoons and mountain winds. Climate Hengchun Peninsula, also known as the "Coral Reef Island", is located at the southernmost tip of Taiwan. Because the temperature throughout the year is between 20℃~28℃, the trees are evergreen, and the flowers are in bloom, it is called the "Hengchun Peninsula". Hengchun Peninsula is known as "Taiwan's Hawaii" for its beautiful tropical seaside scenery. Geology The Hengchun Peninsula is divided into two geological structural units with the Hengchun Fault as the boundary. (1) The Central Mountains on the east side of the Hengchun Fault is dominated by late Miocene deep-sea turbidite sedimentary rocks, and the Upper-Pleistocene Kenting Dump The layer is unconformable with the Hengchun limestone above it. (2) Hengchun West Platform on the west side of the Hengchun Fault, sand shale and limestone in the Upper-Pleistocene shallow marine environment. The formation process of the Hengchun Peninsula can be roughly divided into two stages: (1) Sedimentary stage: Miocene, which belongs to the continental slope environment on the north side of the South China Sea; after the late Miocene, the continental slope was gradually replaced by sediments from the north A deltaic environment that accumulates to form a continental shelf. (2) Orogenic stage: Upper-Pleistocene, the subduction of the South China Sea caused the accretionary rock mass at the front of the subduction zone to be squeezed and gradually increased (buildup), and some sediments accumulated in the sag basin on the accretionary rock mass. Similar small basins can often be found on accretionary rock bodies off the coast of Hengchun today (Fig. 2; Yu and Lu, 1995). During this period, part of the mixed layer colluvial from the accretionary rock mass on the east side formed the pour layer in the basin. When the accretionary rock mass rose out of the water, coral reefs began to form in the surrounding sea area, and then the coral reefs were lifted up to form coral reef terraces. The accretionary rock mass is mainly grown by the superposition of sedimentary layers due to the action of imbricated reverse faults. The current structure of the accretionary rock mass in the sea area southwest of the Hengchun Peninsula is composed of more than a dozen westward reverse faults (Lee et al. ., 1992; Yu and Lu, 1995; Yu, 2000). From the stratigraphic structure point of view, the Hengchun fault should be the most important fault among them, with the largest fault offset. In addition to the Hengchun fault on the east side, there should be another reverse fault structure on the west side of the Hengchun West Platform, which caused the Hengchun West Platform to rise over the past 100,000 years. Main Attractions Kenting Ranch Although Hengchun Peninsula faces the sea on three sides, visitors here can not only enjoy the sea view, but also the endless grassland. Kenting Ranch is the largest ranch in Taiwan. Due to the influence of strong sea breeze, crops here are not easy to survive and are only suitable for the growth of pasture, thus providing abundant forage for cattle and sheep. Unexpectedly, on the island of Taiwan, you can still see the beautiful scenery of "the grass is blown by the wind and you can see the cattle and sheep". Although the Checheng Bay and Kenting areas on the Hengchun Peninsula have a tropical maritime monsoon climate, the grasslands still have different looks with the seasons. If you visit here during the pasture harvesting season, you will also see lawnmowers passing through the pasture area, just like shaving the grassland. The cows rest lazily on the pasture, and there is always a flock of white birds flying around them. These birds are called cattle egrets and they love to be inseparable from their herds. To overlook the panoramic view of Kenting Ranch, Dajianshan is the most ideal location. Although this mountain with an altitude of only 318 meters is not high, it is rugged and steep, attracting many rock climbing enthusiasts to climb here. As a landmark in Kenting, visiting Dajianshan is also a good choice. Kenting Park Kenting Park's "Line of Sky" is a famous scenic spot composed of coral reefs. The coral reefs that lived on the seabed rose along with the movement of the earth's crust, and finally evolved into steep rocks. Walking on the winding path with the reef as the wall, you can't help but marvel at the magic of nature! The unique geographical environment also breeds plants rarely seen in other places. Silverleaf sedge has huge roots. In order to adapt to survival, through its own evolution, the roots of the silver leaf root gradually penetrated the ground and became larger and larger, finally forming what it is today.
In addition, the fibrous roots of the white banyan tree are also the result of natural evolution. If not told, few people know that the filaments hanging on the branches are the fibrous roots of the white banyan tree. Hengchun Ancient City Hengchun Ancient City is located at the southernmost tip of the Hengchun Peninsula. As its name suggests, it is like spring all year round, refreshing and pleasant. Walking around the ancient town, you can get a clear view of the customs of southern Taiwan, especially the four ancient city gates that have been left to this day, which seem to still tell people the stories of the past. Walking in the quiet alleys of residential houses, you can sometimes find some ancient pottery fragments. Some of them are thousands of years old. Local specialty Qionma There is another crop that is quite special, that is Qionma. Qiongma is a raw material for making fishing nets and ropes. Nowadays, factories processing Qiongma can still be seen in some places in Hengchun. Although the scale is not large, as an ancient local industry, it is also a good place to visit. During the Japanese occupation, the Japanese introduced the cultivation of Qionma, which was used as a raw material for fishing nets and ropes. Hengchun Hemp Farm was established in 1913. Since then, Qiong has become the main economic crop of the Hengchun Peninsula; due to the replacement of nylon ropes, Hengchun Hemp Farm was established in 1987. The last textile factory closed, and the Qiongma industry officially entered history. The Reclamation Management Office also changed the Hengchun Ma Farm into a Qiong Ma Industrial History Exhibition Area, allowing everyone to understand the life of Qiong Ma in the Hengchun Peninsula. Onions Onions are one of the main crops in Hengchun. The climate, terrain, and soil here are very suitable for its growth. So when you come here, you might as well bring some onions back to taste. The strong downhill winds in Taiwan's Hengchun Peninsula in winter are suitable for onion balling, and the stronger the downhill winds, the better the quality of the onions, making onions the main cash crop in the Hengchun Peninsula after Qiongma; the current onion production in the Hengchun Peninsula Accounting for 80% of Taiwan's total, it is mainly exported to Japan. Plant in October and harvest in February or March of the following year. Onions are known as "Taiwan Weirang". Relevant units have also developed many by-products such as onion pancakes and onion juice. Gangkang Tea Gangkang Tea is the southernmost tea area in Taiwan. It is a famous tea from Wuyi Mountain imported from the mainland more than 100 years ago. It was planted in Gangkang Village, Manzhou Township and got its name because the Gangkang Tea Area has strong monsoons for half a year, and the wind is salty. , making the tea leaves small and thick, with less water and rich ingredients. The tea leaves are particularly rich and resistant to flushing. The output is not large and can only be purchased at teahouses in Hengchun Town and Gangkang Village. Port tea has a strong flavor, and the brewing method is different from ordinary tea. The water temperature should be hot and the time should be short. The first brewing time should not exceed 30 seconds. The entrance of the tea is bitter and astringent, and it has a sweet aftertaste soon. Folk culture A strange falling mountain wind The falling mountain wind is a very unique natural landscape of the Hengchun Peninsula. It affects the humanities, natural landscape and agriculture, fishery and animal husbandry of the Hengchun Peninsula. From October to April of the following year, the strong northeast monsoon is controlled by the Central Mountains. When it reaches the remaining range of the Central Mountains of the Hengchun Peninsula, the height drops below 1,000 meters. The monsoon rushes straight down over the mountains and ridges, adding to the Shimen Canyon. , Dawu Valley and Manzhou Township Mountain Valley form a "control" effect, which strengthens the wind, which is called mountain wind by local people. When it was strong, there were records of winds as high as Category 13, which is equivalent to a moderate typhoon. The two strange men, women and children eat betel nut because the downhill wind blows for half a year. It is also the dry season, and the lips cannot withstand the wind and become chapped. Hengchun people chew betel nut to keep their lips moist and to work up the mountain to produce fluid and quench their thirst. In the early years, people in Hengchun ate betel nut, regardless of age. It was not only a daily snack, but also a wedding gift like the original residents. The area near the intersection of Fude Street and Zhongshan Road in Hengchun was also called betel nut street. At night, various kinds of betel nut were eaten on both sides of the road. The light box sign stays on all night. The betel nut stalls look like telephone booths with white and red lights on, and they look like mainland security booths. The women selling betel nut seemed to have no idea what a cold was. Most of them were young and beautiful, and they were all dressed in sexy and sexy clothes, that is to say, they wore "three-point clothes." It is said that the authorities thought that the clothes were immoral, and they wanted to remove the hooves but could not find any legal basis. Difficult to handle! With the help of lights, they make full use of their body movements inside and outside the pavilion to attract customers to buy betel nuts. Those who knew it was a betel nut seller, but those who didn’t know it thought they were somewhere. It doesn’t matter if you have any ideas, just buy betel nuts first. Three Strange Hengchun Folk Songs The folk tunes popular in Hengchun mainly include six types: "Si Qi", "Ping Pu", "Wukong Minor", "Niuweiban", "Four Seasons Spring" and "Fenggang Minor". The folk songs of Hengchun originally originated from the ancestors who left their hometowns and came to Taiwan to reclaim the wasteland. Every time the setting sun arouses infinite nostalgia, the melody of "Thoughts Rises" was born. Hengchun folk music was in recession for a time. In 1967, musicians Xu Changhui and Shi Weiliang launched a folk song collection activity and discovered Chen Da, who was 62 years old at the time. Chen Da retained the original folk music form and was called "the last filial son of national music" by Shi Weiliang. Chen Da made Hengchun folk songs popular. One of the Three Monsters of Hengchun actually refers to Chen Da.
