Location of White Sands National Monument wine producing area: New Mexico is one of the 50 states in the United States, located in the southwest of the United States, bordering Texas in the south and east, and Arizona in the west. The state covers an area of 12 1 1,500 square miles (3 1 0.6 million square kilometers) and lies between 31and 37 degrees north latitude.

Grape varieties: Shiraz, viognier, Canelli Musk, Malva West Asia, Cabernet Sauvignon and Zinfandel.

Climate: The climate in most parts of the state is hot and dry, and the grape growth period is very short, which makes it difficult for grape tannins to mature. The higher altitude areas in the state have a relatively cool microclimate, and the wine style here is more modern.
