What does a salon mean in a house?
Salon refers to the living room in a house.
the word Salon originated from the Italian word Salotto, which is a transliteration of the French word Salon, and originally refers to the luxurious reception room in the residence of French elites. Around the 17th century, famous ladies in Paris usually turned their living rooms into famous social places, and most of them were poets, musicians, painters, critics and novelists. They gathered together, enjoying elegant music while drinking high-class famous wine, and holding their knees for a long talk.
Later, people called this kind of gathering "Salon", which became popular in Europe and America in the 19th century and became a heyday. In the twenties and thirties of the 2th century, Lin Huiyin also hosted famous salon activities, and spread this social activity in the later literary circles.
