How much does it cost to travel to Malta? What cities are there in Malta?

Malta is known as the "Hollywood" of the Mediterranean. Many movies are shot in Malta. In the past, others described the sea as blue sea and blue sky. Some cities have been visited, while others have not been visited, but Malta will surely amaze you. Number of days: 4 days. Cost per person: 7,000 yuan

Geographic overview

Malta is located in the south of Sicily, surrounded by the Mediterranean Sea and consists of five small islands. The three main islands are Malta, Gozo and Comino.

The Three Blues of Malta

The three blues of Malta are the Blue Window, the Blue Grotto and the Blue Lagoon.

Located on the island of Gozo, Blue Window was once the home of Game of Thrones. The Maltese authorities had predicted that the Blue Window would collapse within decades, but surprisingly, the Blue Window failed to withstand the erosion of the waves and turned into a pile of boulders ahead of schedule.

The Blue Cave is located in the south of the main island. Since it was far away from Valletta and going out to sea depended on weather conditions, we didn’t go.

The Blue Lagoon is located on Comino Island. There are white beaches and reefs on the coast and the water quality is first-class.

Visa, currency, language

Malta is a member of the European Union, Schengen countries, and the Commonwealth. You only need to apply for a Schengen visa. The local currency is the Euro and English is the official language. Interestingly, the euro is different in every country. When we asked for change, we received the Maltese version of 1 euro, with four "V" letters on the back, symbolizing the glorious Knights Hospitaller.

Local transportation and public transportation

There are buses on the main island of Malta connecting Valletta, Sliema and the pier. There are usually buses with an "X" passing through the airport. Bus prices vary with the season, ranging from 1.50 euros in winter to 2 euros in summer.

Recommended: The Nollijet bit-tallinjia card can be used on the main island and Gozo. The ticket price is 15 euros/12 times, no limit on the number of people.

Sightseeing bus:

Malta's public transportation is slow and punctual, so the recommended mode of transportation is a double-decker sightseeing bus, which connects the main attractions and has multi-national audio commentary that can go up and down.

Ferry:

Irkewwa Port: Located in the north of the main island of Malta, connecting the main island, Gozo and Comino. Arrival buses: 41, 42, 221, 222, X1.

Marhabour: Located in Gozo Island, arriving bus: 301, 303, 322.

The ferry to Comino Island will be closed from November to March of the following year, and sailing at other times will depend on weather conditions.

Recommended accommodation cities

The attractions in Malta are relatively scattered. Living in the capital city of Valletta and the nearby satellite town of Sliema is easy. The advantage of living in Slima is that the price is relatively affordable.

Main Island of Malta

Hotel Castilla

The capital of Malta, Valletta, is named after Valletta, the sixth head of the Knights Hospitallers. . This city carries the twists and turns of Malta’s story. When you are in it, you can deeply feel the weight of history.

When we arrived on the first day, it was drizzling and the earth-yellow building colors made the whole city look particularly gloomy and vicissitudes of life.

The terrain is undulating, and most of the buildings are in medieval style. Perhaps because of the rain, there were not many pedestrians in the old town, but the cafes on the corner were very lively. We found a restaurant near Hong Kong. Although it was raining lightly, many diners chose to sit outside. Maltese food tastes like Italian food, but many dishes incorporate a local specialty: seafood.

Golden Bay

The beach of Golden Bay is wide and endless, suitable for lying leisurely all afternoon. The sea water is still a bit cold in April, but it does not prevent tourists who like the sea from surfing and boating.

This is a paradise for beach children, who play attentively in their own roaring fields; young girls gather together to sunbathe, talk and laugh.

Paradise Bay

Due to the strong wind and waves, the speedboat to Comino did not set sail, so we walked to Paradise Bay near Irkewwa Pier. Walking along the empty road, you can see the eye-catching sign of the Paradise Bay diving spot. Unfortunately, we didn’t know how to dive at that time, so we couldn’t see the top marine ecology of the Mediterranean. Turning into a small road beside the mountain, the scene in front of me suddenly opened up, and a blue bay was hidden deep in the mountain. Because of the high tide, there are not many tourists staying here, only the sound of the waves.

There are many colorful boats on the seaside of Malta, with a pair of "Eyes of Horus" painted on the bows, which is closely related to local beliefs. Fishermen believed that the falcon god from Egyptian mythology could protect them.

In the evening, when we were walking on the promenade in Sliema, we saw two citizens sitting leisurely on the beach fishing:

Gozo Island

When we went out to sea in the early morning, the wind and waves were very strong. Although the hull can accommodate hundreds of tourists, it still rocks and sways, causing exclamations from time to time. It’s easy to understand why boats to Comino often stop running.

Blue windows

The uncanny workmanship of nature created this spectacle. Huge limestone arches tower over De Vera Bay, eroded by the waves day after day. It's a pity that it no longer exists today. Before we reached the blue window, the rocks under our feet had been corroded by the sea water.

After crawling for a while, I finally got close to the blue window. At this time, a huge wind wave hit my face, and my hair became wet after a while. A few rock climbing enthusiasts climbed to the top under the spotlight and stood on the stormy waves.

Keslendi Bay

Coming to Xlendi was completely unexpected. The bus took us to a small fishing village and we visited it as soon as we arrived. There are many large and small Western restaurants in the harbor. Waves occasionally broke through the dike and sank into the corridor. People who eat seem unaffected. They were still very calm, talking and laughing, letting the sea water swim under their feet.

Ramla Bay

Beaches can be found everywhere in Malta, but the geology of Red Beach is quite special. The entire beach is red and yellow in color and has a soft texture. As an avid beach lover, I have walked and seen all kinds of beaches, among which the Mediterranean is the most romantic. The eternal charm of the sea lies in its mystery and unknown. Looking from a distance, the waves are rough and have the power of a black hole. When you are at the bottom of the ocean, you feel the peace and serenity of being suspended in an infinite vacuum.

Perhaps the ancient city of Victoria is the result of the Catholic faith and the pleasant Mediterranean climate, which brought a peaceful life to the locals. Most cities in Malta are full of ancient and peaceful atmosphere, and the people on the streets are leisurely and contented. As we left Red Beach, an old Maltese woman drove up to us. It turned out that she found a piece of lost clothing not far away and mistakenly thought that we were the owners. Although it did not belong to the owner, the old woman's little kindness still touched people's hearts.

Comino

Getting to Comino is like flipping a coin. This requires some good luck. On the first day, it was a rainy day, and the ticket booth was closed. On the second day, when we arrived at the dock, the cabin was still closed, and we were told that we could not get off the boat on a windy day. On the third sunny day, the ticket booth finally opened, and we stood at the dock and cheered wildly.

The beautiful Comino Island in the Blue Lagoon has a permanent population of 8 people. The environment on the island is very primitive and there is no public transportation. Only the busy boats coming and going, full of tourists, bring life to the island.

What attracts people’s attention is the transparent sea area on Comino Island: the Blue Lagoon. The fine white sand sets off the clarity of the water, extremely high visibility and first-class water quality. This is a great place for diving, but unfortunately it cannot be found in the sea.

The more islands it touches, the less willing it is to stay on the surface. A year later, you studied OW with the Queen in Semporna and finally realized your underwater dream.

In the afternoon, dark clouds suddenly covered the sea and heavy rain poured down. Everyone took shelter under the rocks. We were glad that we had good weather while out on the water and had the chance to see the blue of the Blue Lagoon.

The rain came and went in the afternoon, but disappeared quickly. Tourists walked out one after another, and the sea returned to life.

At my instigation, the Queen tried to dive from a protruding rock. Because she has received swimming training since she was a child, the queen is quite good at swimming and plunges into the water to swim. I followed the Queen's lead and plunged my body into the icy water. Standing in the sun and looking into the distance, the ship seems to be suspended in the transparent air.

Charming Malta

Everything is present in nature, and many changes can catch people off guard. Some scenes were destroyed by civilization, while others were lost in time.

But with or without the blue windows, Malta is still so charming.

Walking on the winding Old Mint Street, walking on the seaside at night, walking in the ancient Victorian city, you can Al
