Introduction to San Sendai

Three Sendai, a famous tourist attraction in Taitung County, Taiwan, is located three kilometers northeast of Chenggong Town. It consists of offshore islands, coral reefs and gravel coast, covering an area of about 22 hectares. Because of less human disturbance, it is also an important base for studying coastal plant ecology and is listed as a nature reserve. According to legend, Tie Guai Li, Lv Dongbin and He Xiangu of the Eight Immortals rested on the island and left three pairs of footprints on the mountain, hence the name "Three Sendai". In order to facilitate tourists to land on the island, 1987 built an eight-arch cross-sea pedestrian bridge. Because of its beautiful appearance, it has become a local landmark.
