Shijiazhuang was founded in the 14th year of the Republic of China (1925), then it was named "Shimen City", and was renamed as Shijiazhuang City in 1947. 1968 Hebei provincial capital moved to Shijiazhuang. After the unification of the Western Jin Dynasty, it belonged to Changshan County of Jizhou (the western Jin Dynasty moved from the northwest of Yuanshi County to the East Ancient City, and the eastern Jin Dynasty moved from the East Ancient City to Zhengding Town), Zhongshan State, Julu County, Zhao State and Boling State respectively.

During the Sui Dynasty, it belonged to Hengshan County (later changed to Hengzhou, the county name was definite, now Zhengding Town), Zhaojun County (the county name was Pingci, now Zhaozhou Town), Xindu County (the county name is now jizhou city) and Laixian County (the county name is now Dingzhou City).
