My mother always follows my grandma’s habit of finding me dishes related to the word “yellow”: braised yellow croaker, cold cucumber, steamed salted egg yolk. Dad would cook a big plate of meat with whole eggs and garlic. Whether we liked it or not, my dad made my brother and I eat a little of everything. If we were on vacation in my hometown, grandma would tie several colors of colored thread around our necks and hands.

Many countries now celebrate the Dragon Boat Festival, and South Korea has also applied to UNESCO to celebrate the Dragon Boat Festival. I hope our traditional festivals can get more and more attention from everyone.
