China has a vast territory, many strange mountains and complicated geographical environment, so there are still many undiscovered mysterious areas. Especially in the mountainous areas of our country, some natural "huge potholes" are often found. Under the ingenuity of nature, these caves are bottomless, like knives and axes, as if hiding the secrets of the whole world. Of course, there is no magic of surrealism here, but it is the result of long-term action of water and rocks in karst landform.

Not long ago, a scientific research team discovered a natural sinkhole group in Zhenxiong County, Yunnan Province, China. The overall elevation of this sinkhole group is about 1400 meters, less than 100 kilometers from the county seat, covering an area of more than 600 mu. It consists of six sinkholes, large and small. The biggest one, the locals gave it a very vivid name "cauldron ring", because it is like a sunken iron pot. This sinkhole is surrounded by cliffs with a depth of150m. So far, there are 8 families with 32 people living on the ground floor. Like a paradise in the Peach Blossom Garden.

According to the residents here, they lived in this sinkhole around 1953. At that time, a disease called leprosy was prevalent in their county. Because of the limited medical and health conditions, many villagers were sent here for isolation treatment. Moreover, at that time, it was deserted and there was no way to go. Many patients were sent directly from the cliff to the bottom of the pit with ropes. They lived here for more than 50 years. Until 2002, the local government also built a mountain road.

So the people who lived at the bottom of this sinkhole were also descendants of leprosy patients at that time. They were left here to die at first, but they didn't give up. On the contrary, they cultivated land, planted crops and started a self-sufficient life here. At that time, the guard room guarding these patients was also converted into a school in 2007. Although it is called a school, in fact, this school is only an aisle less than two meters on the edge of a cliff. There is only one teacher in the school, and the students are all children of the residents under the tiankeng.

At first, when there was no mountain road, the villagers' activities were restricted to the bottom of the pit. After the opening of the mountain road, they can now take some agricultural products to the market and buy some daily necessities. The simple life also makes the residents here extremely simple. In addition to their free time, the villagers will sit together and chat, with little entertainment. In recent years, the local government took the opportunity to harden the mountain road leading to the tiankeng, which also facilitated the communication between villagers and the outside world. But also for the eight families here to handle the household registration and identity cards, pension insurance and other welfare policies. The life of the villagers has also undergone earth-shaking changes.

Under the propaganda of the media, this strange village is gradually known to the public, and more and more people come here to visit, which also makes it a famous scenic spot. Because of its unique geographical features, it is also particularly suitable for exploration, scientific research and tourism. Some people even think that it will be listed as a national geological park in the future. So, if there is an opportunity, would you like to go to the bottom of the sinkhole and feel the life of the local people? Welcome to leave a message in the comment area and share your views.
