Xining is located in the east of Qinghai Province and the northeast of Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, with a total area of 7,66 square kilometers. The total area is 766 square kilometers, and the urban area is 476.5 square kilometers. The geographical coordinates are between 1 52' ~ 11 54' east longitude and 36 13' ~ 37 28' north latitude.
