Order of Osaka, Kyoto, and Nara

Osaka, Kyoto, and Nara are both very popular tourist cities in Japan and are also well-known cities in the world. Friends who like to travel to Japan must want to know how to rank the order of visiting these three cities. ?The following is a detailed tour route guide for you.

The map above shows the geographical location of the three places.

The distance between cities is basically about 1 hour by electric car, which is about 2 hours round trip.

Accommodation is generally in Kyoto or Osaka, and you can go to Nara for a day trip from Kyoto or Osaka and return on the same day.

If it’s just one day, you can stay in Osaka for three days. It’s also very convenient to go from Osaka to Kyoto for a day trip. It’s only an hour’s drive, and trams run late into the evening. It is common for many people living in Kyoto to work in Osaka.

If you want to play more carefully in Kyoto, you can choose to live in Kyoto.

Just considering that the questioner doesn’t have much time, the return trip will be at Kansai International Airport, so it will be relatively close to the airport on the last day of my stay in Osaka.

It would be appropriate to spend a few days in each place these days.

For the first time, two days in Kyoto, one day in Nara, and one day in Osaka will give you a rough look.

If you have time to play slowly in the future, you can spend a few more days in Kyoto, including the surrounding areas, Nara as well, and the cherry blossoms in Mount Yoshino. Now many people go there every year. Osaka mainly feels like a commercial center city, and there are not many historical sites. I made some choices based on personal preferences.

If you want to visit Osaka, Kyoto, and Nara and are very short on time, I think it will take at least four days. I traveled to Japan last month and spent four days in Kansai, two days in Kyoto, one day in Nara, and one day in Osaka. On the first day, I flew to Osaka International Airport and then took a highway bus to Kyoto Station. I only went to Kiyomizudera Temple on this day. Because it was noon when we first arrived in Kyoto, we only spent one afternoon at Kiyomizudera Temple. The next day we went to Fushimi Inari Taisha Shrine in the morning, had lunch at Kyoto Station at noon, and transferred to Arashiyama in the afternoon.

We went to Kinkakuji Temple on the morning of the third day, and then quickly went to Nara. Arrive at Nara Station at noon, and then spend the entire afternoon at Nara Park.

That night, I took the subway to Osaka, and then visited Dotonbori and Shinsaibashi in one night. On the fourth day, we went to Osaka Castle Castle early in the morning, stayed for half an hour and rushed to Universal Studios, then spent a day at Universal Studios, and then took JR to Osaka International Airport in the afternoon.

Osaka is a central city. The distance from Osaka to Kyoto is about 50 kilometers, the distance from Osaka to Nara is about 40 kilometers, and the distance from Osaka to Kobe is about 40 kilometers.
