Shanghai Chenshan Botanical Garden (hereinafter referred to as "Chenshan") is located in Sheshan National Tourism Resort, Songjiang District, Shanghai. It is a comprehensive botanical garden integrating scientific research, popular science and sightseeing. It was built by the Shanghai Municipal People's Government, China Academy of Sciences and National Forestry and Grassland Administration (formerly the State Forestry Administration), covering an area of 27 hectares, and was initially completed and opened to the public in April 21. Chenshan has been paying attention to the research based on the collection of living plants, closely combining scientific research with the collection of living plants with the construction of specialized gardens, and strengthening the collection and management of plant resources around the key plant groups. At present, it has built three national germplasm resources banks of Labiatae, Pteridophyte and Lotus, and collected 14,625 species of various characteristic plants, including 7,758 original species and 6,867 varieties, belonging to 25 families and 1,69 genera from 71 countries.
