What is fun in Qimen? Please ask the gods for the place
Fenghuang Mountain is located on the bank of the Changjiang River in the south of the city. It is a scenic spot in Qimen County. The ancients praised it as "the most beautiful mountain in the surrounding Qi". Since ancient times, the vegetation has been intact, with towering ancient trees, evergreen pines and junipers, dotted with mountain flowers, hidden ancient temples, and the singing of birds and the fragrance of flowers, making it a good place for an outing to escape the summer heat. During Lizong's reign in the Song Dynasty, the "Kuiwen Pavilion" was built for scholars to meet, make friends, and write poems and lyrics.
During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, whenever the "Shangji Festival" falls on March 3 of the lunar calendar, tourists are crowded around, surrounded by green mountains and green waters. People suddenly feel that "the sky is clear and the air is clear, and the wind is gentle and gentle." The dusk falls and you return. "Climbing high and conquering mountains is a unique pleasure. The gate of Fenghuang Mountain was originally an archway-style building, with the four characters "Yunlu Chuji" inscribed on its forehead, embodying the original meaning of climbing high and achieving victory. It was demolished in the summer of 1974. The newly restored mountain gate is in the gable style of an ancient residence, simple and elegant. Entering the mountain gate and climbing up the stairs, you will reach Kuixing Pavilion and Phoenix Spring. Phoenix Spring is located under Kuixing Pavilion. Fenghuang Spring is a 1 meter square artesian well. Water seeps out from the stone cracks in Fenghuang Mountain all year round. The water depth is less than 1 meter. It is neither overflowing nor turbid during droughts and floods, so it is known as the "Spiritual Spring". The spring water is crystal clear, drinkable and washable, and is sweet and delicious. During the Republic of China, the county magistrate Mao Yufeng sent people to carry Phoenix water to the county government office every day, and boiled the pine needles to make tea, which became a legend about tea drinking. After Phoenix Spring was restored in 1999, many people come here every day to get water, some for drinking tea, some for washing, and they all come here for the "spiritual spring". Kuixing Pavilion, King Zhou Xuanling Temple, Jishan Tower and Fenghuang Tower are ancient buildings in Fenghuang Mountain. They were all demolished in 1974 and have not yet been restored. Kuixing Pavilion, known as Kuiwen Pavilion and Fenghuang Pavilion in ancient times, was built by Chen Guo, the magistrate of Lizong in the Southern Song Dynasty. It means promoting a literary style and is a good place for scholars to gather. There is a statue of "Kuixing Diandou" in the attic. This pavilion was destroyed before 1873, and was later rebuilt and renamed Kuixing Pavilion. It is a two-story attic with three sides empty and one side leaning against the mountain. Located below the right side of Kuixing Pavilion, a Buddhist dining hall was built in October 2000. It covers an area of ??54 square meters and is a two-story building with Huizhou style, yellow walls, red tiles and four-corner eaves. There are three rooms and halls upstairs, and two-thirds of the space downstairs is the dining hall. From the Zhaitang, go up dozens of stone steps to reach the Zhou Xuanling King Temple. According to "Qimen Tongzhi Zhi", there are three Zhou Xuanling King Temples in Qimen. The temple of King Zhou Xuanling on Fenghuang Mountain was built before 1488, but the exact age is unknown. People believe that King Zhou Xuanling can cure people's diseases and eliminate disasters, so he is called the Medicine King, so the Temple of King Zhou Xuanling is also called the Temple of Medicine King. The Zhou Xuanling King Temple rebuilt in the 3rd year of Daoguang (1823) was severely damaged when the Guangdong army passed through Qi in Xianfeng Jiayin (1854). By the time of Tongzhi Guihai (1863), it was repeatedly ravaged by wars for 10 years and was completely destroyed. In Tongzhi Bingyin (1866), the people of the city discussed rebuilding the Zhou Xuanling King Temple, and it was completed a year later. The west side of the main hall is quite distinctive. Except for the east side, which is separated from the main hall by a wall, the rest of the wall does not penetrate the wall. Instead, it is decorated with exquisite and clear window lattice, which is very elegant and generous. . Leaning on the railing and looking out into the distance, you can have a panoramic view of the mountain and city scenery. There is Lanruo Tower on the east side of the Temple of King Zhou Xuanling. It was destroyed by rebels during the Tongzhi period. A simple small house was rebuilt on the original site. Xu Xi, the governor of Qimen County at that time, proposed to rebuild a tall building where people can enjoy the scenery and rest. In 1924, funds were raised to build a two-story classical elegant high-rise building on the site of the original Lanruo Building. Hu Wenbo, a local, named it after the word "Jishan" in Du Fu's poem "Deng Huiyi Temple", "Orioles follow the world, and pavilions are sent to the top of the mountain." In those days, tourists and poets often climbed up here to overlook the distance, reciting poems and composing poems. From Zhou Xuanling King Temple and Jishan Tower, you can go up dozens of steps along the stone steps to Phoenix Tower, which is a two-story building with three rooms. The upper floor is for tourists to relax and enjoy, and the downstairs is the abbot's boarding and lodging place. This building was demolished in 1974. In 2000, four bungalows were built on the original site of Phoenix Tower, named "Three Holy Temples". The first one to the east is dedicated to Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva, and the second one is dedicated to the three western gods (Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva, Guanyin Bodhisattva, Amitabha Buddha, Mahasthamaprapta Bodhisattva), that is, the three holy halls, this is the main hall, the third one is the Medicine King Hall, and the fourth one is the Patriarch Hall. After the temple was built, it also attracted some pilgrims, and the sound of bells and drums echoed in Phoenix Mountain again. Wenfeng Pagoda is located on the top of Wenfeng Mountain. It is the only ancient building preserved in Fenghuang Mountain. From the tower, you can have a panoramic view of Qicheng scenery. "The view from the tower range" is also one of the twelve scenic spots in Meicheng. On the southern slope of Wenfeng Pagoda, there is the Wenfeng Nunnery ruins built at the same time. The ruins are hidden in the grass and are difficult to find without looking carefully. The beautiful scenery of Phoenix Mountain attracted a large number of literati and produced a large number of poems and couplets, all of which were included in "Phoenix Mountain Chronicles". These two poems, "Turn the palm of your hand over the water and float green, and glance at the thousands of peaks to see the distant green." These two poems were written by Mei Yong, an imperial edict during the reign of Emperor Tongzhi of the Qing Dynasty. They are the best portrayal of the scenery of Fenghuang Mountain. The rise and fall of Fenghuang Mountain reflects the old and new changes in Qimen's history. Today, Phoenix Mountain is full of vitality and welcomes tourists from all over with a new attitude.
