Nanjing map area division

Nanjing governs 11 districts including Xuanwu, Qinhuai, Jianye, Gulou, Qixia, Yuhuatai, Jiangning, Pukou, Liuhe, Lishui and Gaochun. The city's administrative area covers an area of ??6587.02 square kilometers.

1. Xuanwu District

Is the core urban area of ??Nanjing, with a total area of ??75.46 square kilometers. It governs 7 streets and 59 communities, with a permanent population of 600,200 and a registered population of 477,500. It is the seat of the Nanjing Municipal Party Committee, the Municipal Government and many provincial and municipal agencies. It is also the headquarters of the Eastern Theater Command, the Eastern Theater Command Air Force and other forces. The area has beautiful mountains and rivers. Purple Mountain and Xuanwu Lake account for nearly 50% of the area, and the green coverage rate of the area reaches 61.91%. It has a profound historical heritage. Most of the imperial palaces and gardens of the ten dynasties were built here. The Ming Tombs, Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum, Presidential Palace and other historical and cultural sites are famous both at home and abroad.

2. Qinhuai District

On February 17, 2013, the State Council officially approved Nanjing City’s request for instructions to adjust some administrative divisions, agreeing to cancel Nanjing Qinhuai District and Baixia District and establish The new Nanjing Qinhuai District, the original Qinhuai District and Baixia District administrative areas are the new Qinhuai District administrative areas. The Qinhuai District People's Government is located at No. 69, Taiping South Road, Wulao Village Street. On March 28, Qinhuai New District was officially unveiled.

Qinhuai New District is located in the southeast of Nanjing’s main city and is one of the four main urban areas in Nanjing, covering an area of ??49.11 square kilometers. It borders Jiangning District Fangshang to the east, Qinhuai River to the west, Jianye District to the outside, Zhongshan East Road and Hanzhong Road to the north, Xuanwu and Drum Tower to the north, and Yuhuatai District to the south by Yuhua East Road and Kazimen Street.

3. Jianye District

It is located in the southwest of the main urban area of ??Nanjing, east of the Qinhuai River, west of the Yangtze River, south of the Qinhuai New River, and north of Hanzhongmen Street, covering an area of ??83 square kilometers. It currently governs 6 streets (offices) and 60 communities, with a permanent population of approximately 472,600 and a total population of approximately 600,000.

In the area, there are Mochou Lake, which is known as the first of the "Forty-Eight Scenes of Jinling", China Brocade, one of China's "Three Famous Brocades", as well as Nanjing Olympic Sports Center, Jiangsu Grand Theater, Green Expo, Invasion Historical and cultural resources such as the Memorial Hall of the Victims of the Nanjing Massacre by Chinese and Japanese Army. As one of the central urban areas of Nanjing, Jianye is both ancient and young.

4. Gulou District

Located on the south bank of the lower reaches of the Yangtze River, in the northwest of Nanjing City, it is one of the central urban areas of Nanjing. It is the seat of the Jiangsu Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial Government, the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Congress and the CPPCC . It has 11 kilometers of golden Yangtze River coastline in the main city of Nanjing. It is bounded by East Central Road, Zhongshan Road and Yaoshang Village Cross Street, adjacent to Xuanwu District and Qixia District respectively.

Bounded by South Hanzhong Road, Hanzhongmen Street, and the western section of Jiqingmen Street (to Qinghe Road in the west and the planned northern section of Yanshan Road in the east), it borders Qinhuai District and Jianye District respectively; The west and north are bounded by the Yangtze River and face Pukou District. The administrative area is 54.18 square kilometers.
