A friend was cheated when traveling and shopping. Can he claim for shopping fraud?

According to the law, if a business operator commits fraud in providing goods or services, it shall increase the compensation for the losses it has suffered according to the requirements of consumers, and the amount of compensation shall be three times the price of the goods purchased by consumers or the cost of receiving services. Therefore, consumers who are cheated in shopping can claim compensation. In this case, consumers can negotiate with the operators first. If negotiation fails, consumers can complain to the Consumers Association or bring a lawsuit to the people's court. Article 577 of the Civil Code stipulates that if a party fails to perform its contractual obligations or fails to meet the contract obligations, it shall bear the liabilities for breach of contract such as continuing to perform, taking remedial measures or compensating for losses.
