Lotus Peak, the main peak, is a small peak rising from the South China Sea coast, which is composed of a large number of petal-shaped vertically cracked granite. In A.D. 1278, Wen Tianxiang, a diligent king in the Southern Song Dynasty, climbed to the top of the mountain to find the emperor's boat, so he named and carved the stone as "Lotus Peak". Lotus peak is a famous scenic spot in Chaoshan, with coastal characteristics. 200 1 was awarded the first national AAA tourist attraction in Guangdong province. Lotus Peak is not only beautiful in the sea, but also rich in cultural connotation. There are ancient buildings in Ming and Qing Dynasties, such as Zhongxian Temple, Guan Hai Tower and Chongwen Pavilion. Memorial buildings such as "mass graves" and "Wengong Stone Statue". As for another provincial cultural relic, the "Mass Pit" is the historical evidence that the Japanese army killed fishermen during the Anti-Japanese War, and it is now a cemetery-style patriotic education base.
Xiongshi Mountain by Heping Road was built in May 1989, with a total area of 2.6 square kilometers, which is 2 kilometers away from Chaoyang City/kloc-0. It was named after a peak in the Song Dynasty. A monk built an ancient bridge of peace to benefit the people. Another important scenic spot in Dafeng Scenic Area is "Song Dafeng Ancestral Hall". The museum combines antique and modernist styles, and the white marble statue of Dafeng founder in the museum is brought in from Myanmar sculpture with solemn techniques. In addition, there are many historical sites and scenic spots in Dafeng Scenic Area, such as Lingquan Temple for protecting the country given by Xizong in the Ming Dynasty, Ling Bao Temple for Tiger Land developed in the Qing Dynasty, Gu Quan in Dafeng, Longquan ancient well and Jin Hu ancient well with clear and mellow spring water, lion's tail stone prayed by Dafeng founder, Zhao Puchu, president of Chinese Buddhist Association, etc. Lingquan Ancient Temple is located in the west of Heping Dafeng Scenic Area in Chaoyang, which began in the reign of Xuanhe in Song Dynasty (1 120). Dafeng, a famous monk, came to peace from Fujian, where he built a house to build a flat bridge, but the bridge was not built and died here. In the next four years (1629), Zhu Youxiao, a magistrate of a county, was named "Lingquan Temple for Protecting the Country". 1992 was approved to be included in the third batch of key cultural relics protection units in Chaoyang county.
ling shan temple
Located at the foot of Xiaobei Mountain in Gurao Town, about 25 kilometers northwest of Chaoyang District, Shantou City, Guangdong Province (named Youling, also known as Takou Mountain). Lingshan Temple is the third generation disciple of Master Huineng. Dadian Zen Master was founded in the seventh year of Tang Zhenyuan (79 1), and the local rich invited Dr. Hong Gui (a famous doctor in Dading) to donate money for education. Bishi Temple in the Great Hall is the jiusan of the Western Heaven, so it was named "Lingshan". In the fourth year of Tang Changqing (824), the tomb tower was built on the left side of the temple. According to Lin Ming Da Chun's Records of Chaoyang County, Qin Long, "At the end of the Tang Dynasty, there were people who repaired the bones, but the bottom of the tongue still existed and re-stained, so it was called tongue burial. In the Song Dynasty to Daozhong (995-997), villagers found it again, but the ancient mirror was round. It's just that the stacked stones are still hidden as before ... "Later generations called the ancestral stone tower of the main hall" Tongue Mirror Tower "(a key protected cultural relic in Guangdong Province). Lingshan Temple, known as the "Eight Scenic Spots of Lingshan", has a tongue mirror tower, a clothes-drying pavilion, a wooden pier, a writing platform, a Zhu Sheng monument, a mountain-opening collection, a white stone trough, and Chiba fruit, all of which have been restored by stages. In addition, in 199 1 year, a thousand pagodas were built behind the temple. [ 18]
Dongyan
In the sixth year of Tang Zhenyuan, a 50-year-old monk traveled around the world and came here to set up a temple to practice. Legend has it that at that time, the grass on the mountain was dry, and it was best to look around, so the cool and sweet spring water gurgled out of the cracks in the stone and continued for thousands of years. Later generations called this spring "Zhuoxi Spring". "East Rock Zhuoxi" is one of the eight scenic spots in Chaoyang. Since the Tang Dynasty monks led dozens of disciples from Xuan Ying and Gao Zhi to build temples here, Dongyan Buddhism has been very popular. At present, there are three Fanyu temples on the rock: Zhuoxi Ancient Temple, Shiyan Ancient Temple and Jinding Ancient Temple. Zhuoxi ancient temple is full of clear springs, surrounded by pine and bamboo. There is a white bull cave next to the temple, and an oil bottle is engraved on the wall of the cave. It is said that the big bump was carved with fingers. There are many stone poems in front of Jinding Ancient Temple, which have been passed down to this day. In addition to many ancient temples, Dongyan also preserves the existing relatively concentrated and large-scale Mo Yan stone carving group in Guangdong Province-Dongyan Cliff Stone Carving, which was identified as one of the seventh batch of cultural relics protection units in Guangdong Province.
Xiyan
Chaoyang Xiyan is the earliest rock temple in Chaoshan area, which is built on the mountain and has beautiful scenery. Founded in Jin Dynasty, it flourished in Tang Dynasty. Zhao Hui, a Buddhist descendant and famous monk in the Southern Song Dynasty, once lived here, and the abbot was Xiyan. In Yansi, there is a rare old tree that is over 1200 years old. Chaoyang Xiyan is located at the southern foot of Tashan Mountain in the suburb of Miancheng, Chaoyang District, Shantou City. According to legend, this temple was built in the Jin Dynasty (265-420). It has been repaired many times since it was established. It can be seen from the stone carvings that it was built by Ji Chou of Guangxu (1889). From the plaque of "Great Achievements from the West" preserved so far, we can know that the abbot Jingxin (1896) of Guangxu Shen Bing and his disciples are Taoists, which embodies the characteristics of Chaoshan temple view and has coexisted with Buddhism and Taoism since ancient times. In the past generation of buildings, in addition to natural stone chambers, there were 13 small and exquisite buildings in the 1950s. During the "Cultural Revolution" turmoil, most of them were destroyed. 198 1 June, Xiyan was listed as the first batch of key cultural relics protection units by Chaoyang County People's Government and registered as a place for religious activities. Since 1984, abbot Shi Kuanci (19 18- 1999) has raised funds to repair 13 buildings, repair mountain gates, seal pavilions and build roads. Since 1996, he has built a three-story Zen pavilion next to the ancient temple, with Nirvana Hall and Zhaitang downstairs, a monk's house on the second floor and a newly built ancestral memorial pavilion (hexagonal pavilion) on the third floor. There are natural stone chambers, magical tidal wells, Xiao Duan's dream reading place in Ming Dynasty and other scenic spots.
