I am a student who lives in Yantai. I want to go to Tibet during the summer vacation. I am asking a senior travel friend to help me write a guide. I am a poor student and have a budget of 10,000 yuan.
This is the itinerary I went there in 2006 for your reference. It is safest to go to Tibet by train, and you can gradually adapt to altitude sickness. After getting off the train, there are buses on the east side of the square that can reach Lhasa city. Otherwise, you can only share a car with others to go to the city, which costs 20 yuan per person. Hotels in Lhasa are not cheap, and summer vacation is the peak tourist season. Travel agencies reserve rooms, so there may not be any available rooms. It’s best to ask before you go, in case you don’t have a place to stay after getting off the train.
Tibet tourist routes radiate outwards from Lhasa. It takes two days to go from Lhasa to Nyingchi. After returning to Lhasa, we stay one night in Bayi Town. It takes 8 to 10 hours one way. We visit a stone (forgot the name of the scenic spot, it’s just on the roadside), Basongcuo Lake and Giant Berlin (this attraction has locals selling Ganoderma lucidum, deer penis and other specialties). It also takes two days to get to Shigatse from Lhasa. We will stay in Shigatse for one night. We will visit Yamdrok Lake on the way, and then go to Shigatse, which takes about 8 hours. There is nothing interesting in Shigatse, there is only one Tashi Lunbu Temple, and we have to go back to Lhasa the next day. The lunches at the above two places are very poor and dirty. It is recommended to buy food at the Lhasa supermarket and take it there. I went to Namtso from Lhasa on the same day and returned. There was no shopping, only road meals (bread, sausages, and chicken legs in a box). There were many local people selling things by the lake. If you want to buy, ask about the price. If you don’t want to buy, don’t ask. Tibetans are barbaric. Also, don’t ride a horse. Getting on and off the horse are two prices. It costs 1 yuan to use the restroom there.
If you want to save money and want to go to the above places, you can only join a local group. After all, the distance is far and the road is not easy to walk. The tour fee is about 1,500 yuan. If you really don’t have money, just wander around Lhasa and see the Potala and Jokhang Temple. Tickets cost about 200 yuan, so don’t go to other places.
Rhodiola capsules can relieve altitude sickness and hypoxia (available locally), sunscreen, sunglasses, umbrellas, sun hats, long-sleeved clothes can protect against ultraviolet rays, cold medicine
