1. Badain Jaran Desert
Located in the northern part of Alxa Right Banner in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, the strange peaks, singing sand, lakes, sacred springs and temples are among the five unique features of Badain Jaran Desert. The Bilutu Sand Peak in the hinterland of the desert is known as the "Everest of the Sand Sea" and is more than 70 meters higher than the world's second-highest sand peak in the Sahara Desert of Africa.
2. Ulanbuhe Desert
Ulanbuhe is Mongolian, meaning red bull. It covers an area of ??286.6 square kilometers in Dengkou County. There are many valuable medicinal materials and rare plants in the desert, such as hay, flower sticks, ephedra, Cynomorium Cynomorium, sea buckthorn, Haloxylon ammodendron, etc., and there are more than 200 large and small lakes.
3. Kumtag Desert

4. Taklimakan Desert
In Uyghur language, it means a place that cannot be entered or exited. People usually call it the Sea of ??Death. It is located in the center of the Tarim Basin in southern Xinjiang. It is about 1,000 kilometers long from east to west and more than 400 kilometers wide from north to south. It has a total area of ??337,600 square kilometers. It is the largest desert in China and the second largest in the world.
5. Kumtag Desert
Located in the south of Shanshan County on the eastern edge of the Turpan Basin, 280 kilometers away from the capital Urumqi, it is the desert closest to the city in the world.
