How about the casualties caused when a bus carrying Chinese tourists in Thailand overturned?

At around 20:00 local time on August 6, Thailand, a bus carrying 31 Chinese tourists overturned on the downhill section of Patong Mountain Road in Phuket, southern Thailand. The initial cause may be that the brakes failed, causing the vehicle to lose control, injuring 25 people, including 17 Chinese tourists.

Police and rescue workers rushed to the scene and found that a bus had crashed into a guardrail on Patong Mountain Road and rushed down the roadside. The front of the bus hit a large water pipe not far from the bus. A white van collided with a motorbike, along with a mangled tuk-tuk. The accident caused 25 people to be injured to varying degrees, including 17 Chinese (16 were discharged with minor injuries and 1 was hospitalized for observation), 3 Japanese (discharged with minor injuries) and 5 Thais (3 were seriously injured) , the drivers of 3 vehicles respectively).

Preliminary information revealed that before the incident, the bus was carrying Chinese tourists and tour guides from Kathu County to a hotel in Patong. When it was driving to the scene of the incident, the bus lost control due to brake failure and hit 3 Japanese people on board. The tourists' tuk-tuk and white van caused the van to hit three more motorcycles, and then the bus crashed down the roadside guardrail. Currently, the police are conducting further investigation into the cause of the accident.

Thailand is currently in the rainy season and the roads are slippery. The scene of the accident was a main road in Phuket that spans the east and west coasts of the island. The road is designed with a steep slope and many sharp turns, making it a common place for traffic accidents. In recent years, Chinese tourist buses have had many accidents on downhill mountain roads like Phuket.
