What does Baidu Nuomi mean?

On March 6, 2014, Nuomi.com, a group buying brand owned by Baidu, officially changed its name to Baidu Nuomi. The original Nuomi.com was launched in June 2010 and is operated by Shen Boyang, Vice President of Thousand Oaks. It was first based in Beijing and then expanded to other cities, positioning itself as a local lifestyle guide. In August 2013, Baidu announced a strategic investment of US$160 million in Nuomi.com, acquiring 59% of the shares and becoming Nuomi's largest shareholder. The transaction was completed at the end of October 2013; at the end of 2013, former Nuomi.com CEO Shen Boyang resigned. Liu Jun, vice president of technology at Baidu, took over. In January 2014, Baidu announced that it would fully acquire all the shares of Nuomi.com held by Renren and become the single wholly-owned shareholder of Nuomi.com; starting from March 6, the brand of Nuomi.com was officially changed to Baidu Nuomi.
