The United Nations World Tourism Organization has 159 official member states, 6 associate members, and more than 500 affiliated members. Full members: This type of member is usually the tourism department of the government of a sovereign country and enjoys all the rights of the World Tourism Organization, including voting rights.

Associate members: This type of member is usually a territory without real diplomatic power. Although they have the right to participate in the meetings of the World Tourism Organization, they do not have the right to vote.
