Relics such as the "Inkstone Washing Pool" and the "Book Drying Platform" have left behind the immortal works of Wang Xizhi, the "Sage of Calligraphy" in the Eastern Jin Dynasty. "Xiyanchi" is now located in Xiyanchi Street, Linyi City, located in the former residence of Wang Xizhi. The "book-drying platform" is now located at the site of Wang's former residence in the southwest corner of the ancient city of Linyi, Shandong. It is said to be the place where Wang Xizhi, a calligrapher of the Eastern Jin Dynasty, exposed and collected his books.
Wang Xizhi’s former residence is located at No. 20 Xiyanchi Street, Lanshan District, Linyi City, Shandong Province. It is a classical garden-style building. It is a national key cultural relics protection unit, a key cultural relics protection unit in Shandong Province, and a national AAA-level tourist attraction.
The former residence of Wang Xizhi was built in Langya County in the Jin Dynasty (now Lanshan District, Linyi City, Shandong Province). It is the place where the calligrapher Wang Xizhi was born and lived. Historical monuments such as the Shutai, Wang Youjun Temple, Zuogong Temple, Sibaotai, Wuxian Temple, Langya Academy, etc. The "Glowing Sunset" in Wang Xizhi's former residence was once famous in Kyushu as the first of the "Eight Langya Scenic Spots" in ancient times. It was renovated by the Linyi Municipal Government in 1989, officially opened to the outside world in 1990, and the expansion was completed in 2003. Now as one of the top ten cultural festivals in China, the permanent host of the Shusheng Cultural Festival is famous at home and abroad.
In August 2007, Wang Xizhi’s former residence won the “Gold Award for the Most Potential Landscape in China”. In October 2007, it was rated as a national AAA tourist attraction. In September 2014, the research base of the Institute of Calligraphy and Art of Peking University was established in the former residence of Wang Xizhi.
