Where is the location of Nanjin Ancient Ferry?
It is located on the south bank of the Zuojiang River in the urban area of ??Chongzuo City, across the river from the south gate of the original Taiping Mansion, so it was formerly called Fuqiandu. Nanjin has a long history. There has been a ferry since the establishment of Taiping Village in the fifth year of the Song Dynasty (1053). Because Jintou is located on the south bank, there is only one ancient road, shaped like a stone ladder, from the river to the bank. The road is narrow and steep. It is a natural stone pedal and is the only way from the north bank to the south bank, so it is named Nanjin.
Nanjin is located in a corner, surrounded by beautiful water, with high banks and deep rivers. There is an ancient peach tree beside Jin Road, with towering thorns and thick green trees. It is quiet and elegant, and the scenery is particularly beautiful. The ferry is unusually colorful. During the dry season in winter and spring, the water is shallow and half of the river beach is exposed. It is quiet and clear, like a swimming dragon, flowing eastward. When the water rises in the summer, the upstream peaks all converge here, forming magnificent and turbulent waves. The roar of the waves is like the roar of a lion. There are unique wonders and beautiful scenery in spring and summer, which are praised by all passers-by. In the third year of Tomorrow Shun (1459), Cen Fang, a local magistrate of this city, wrote in "Nanjin Late Ferry": "On the way back to Guandu from Nanjin, smoke rises in the evening, burdened passengers fight for the way, Lisha people wait for the boat, and the demeanor is determined by the day. "How many years have you had sufficient food and clothing? I would like to ask the campers whether they plan to help Sichuan as soon as possible." (Taken from Western Guangdong Poems). In the twenty-sixth year of Kangxi's reign (1687), Huang Liangji, the prefect of Taiping, began to build the Dutou stone bank, which was paved with stone steps from bottom to top. The head of the ferry was 7 feet wide and 130 feet high from the bottom to the top. There were more than 80 steps, and in the middle Six platforms are set up to facilitate people passing by to rest. The total cost is 80,000 strings of copper coins. In the 31st year of Kangxi's reign, Yu Pin built a ship and resumed the crossing. In the Wuyin Year of Jiaqing in the Qing Dynasty (1818), they thought that the terrain of the ancient ferry was unfavorable, so they moved the ferry to outside Xiaoximen to establish a ferry. However, due to the remote location, banditry was uneasy, and the transition was sparsely populated, Yao of Xintaixie moved the ferry back to Nanjin. .
In the thirty-fourth year of the reign of Emperor Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty (1908), Taiping Prefecture began to build a pontoon bridge, named Lijiang Bridge. It was abandoned a few years later and was used for ferry crossing until the end of the Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China.
After liberation, Nanjin became a transportation ferry from south to north, and the county people's government allocated funds for several constructions. In September 1953, the wharf was paved with raw stones and the road was widened to a width of 4.6 meters. There were 152 stone steps from the bottom of the river to the bank. Three platforms were set up along the way to facilitate people waiting to cross. In 1956, a pontoon bridge was erected to replace the ferry during the dry season, allowing it to pass day and night. It was demolished at high tide and two motorized boats were reused to ferry people. In 1979, Level 101 of the North Shore Pier was built with a road width of 4.2 meters. In 1981, 13 more cement steps were built at the bottom of Nanjin Wharf, and the top of the shore was expanded by 2 steps. So far, Nanjin has 0 steps and 167 steps.
After 1985, with the renovation and expansion of Jiangnan Street, the exit at the top of Nanjin is just connected to the street, close to the train and bus station, and a flower garden lawn dozens of meters wide has been built beside the road. . Next to the flower garden is the five-story Nanjin Hotel. From the top of the building, you can get a bird's eye view of the panoramic view.
