It can only be said that there are more people who prefer to go to Tibet and fewer people go to Qinghai. And the reason, if you really want to say the reason, I think there are two points:

First, because Tibet itself has a high mysterious color and sacred status, many famous singers have also sung songs about Tibet and some famous scenic spots, and people living in Tibet also have a belief that makes people feel awe. In Tibet, there is the most famous Mount Everest, and those who dare to climb this mountain are called warriors, just as people often say that you are not a hero until you reach the Great Wall! There is also the majestic Potala Palace, where old people who come to worship can often be seen. This belief is respected and inviolable! So Tibet is more attractive to tourists than scenic spots.

Secondly, the climate characteristics in Tibet are quite distinctive. On the way to Tibet, you can feel the four seasons in one day, which is not available in Qinghai. Many people will feel that since they are out, they should feel more about the world, feel this natural place, or want to have a different trip. Like many backpackers, they choose to walk or ride the wind to see this beautiful scenery on the Sichuan-Tibet line.

But at present, there is no need for fewer people to travel to Qinghai than to Tibet. After all, the temperature in Qinghai can make people adapt to it faster, and there is also a beautiful Chaka Salt Lake, called Tian, which has a low altitude and is not easy to have a high reaction. Therefore, the world is so big, you should walk more when you have time!
