A typical example of a family farm

United States: Si Nuo Farm

Si Nuo Farm is located in fairfield County, central Connecticut, USA. If it weren't for red and white barns and scattered agricultural machinery, it would be hard for people to imagine a 94-year-old family farm in this shady garden with a yard and an inch of land.

Phil Si Nuo is the owner of the farm. He inherited a 60-acre farm from his grandparents and ran it with his family. According to the definition of the National Family Farm Alliance, this is a typical family farm: the family owns the property rights of the farm, and the family members are the main labor force of the farm, mainly responsible for management. Family farms vary in size, ranging from several thousand acres to several acres. Si Nuo farm is medium-sized.

China: The weekend farm.

Take the family farm of the weekend farm as an example, its scale is mostly between 20-200 mu, and the agricultural products it produces are named after the producer's own brand, and a complete food safety traceability system has been established, which is more secure.

Since the beginning of the 20th century, Shanghai Songjiang, Hubei Wuhan, Jilin Liuhe, Jilin Yanbian, Zhejiang Ningbo, Anhui langxi and other places have actively cultivated family farms, which has played a positive role in promoting the development of modern agriculture. According to statistics, there are more than 6,670 family farms in 33 pilot areas designated by the Ministry of Agriculture for standardized management and service of rural land circulation.
