Hengshan Mountain, also known as Nanyue Mountain, Shouyueshan Mountain and Nanshan Mountain, is located in Nanyue District, Hengshan County, Hengyang City, and in the east of Hengyang County. It is one of the five famous mountains in China. The peaks are magnificent, with 72 peaks winding for 800 miles, running through 7 counties and cities. Zhurong Peak, the main peak, is 1290 meters above sea level. Since ancient times, it has been famous for its unique scenery, long history and extensive influence of Buddhism and Taoism. China's observant people are famous all over the world. Hengshan Mountain is better than the other four mountains because of its climatic conditions. There are lush forests and bamboo cultivation everywhere, and it is green all year round. Strange flowers and different grasses, fragrant seasons and beautiful natural scenery, so it has the reputation of "Nanyue alone".

Hengshan Mountain spans eight cities and counties in Hunan Province, with 800 Li and 72 peaks, among which there are 43 peaks in Nanyue District, and the peaks are towering. In general, Hengshan scenic spot refers to the scenic spot centered on 43 peaks in Nanyue District. Among them, the height of Zhurong Peak, the beauty of Tibetan Temple, the wonder of water curtain cave and the depth of Fangguang Temple can be called "four wonders of Hengshan Mountain"; Seeing flowers in spring, clouds in summer, sun in autumn and snow in winter are the "four seasons of Mount Hengshan". There are deep valleys, waterfalls and flowing springs in the scenic area, and there is a sense of tranquility everywhere. There are many temples and temples dotted around, which adds a lot of pious charm to Hengshan Mountain.

2. Shek Gu Academy

Shigu Academy is located in Shigu Mountain, Hengyang City. It was founded in the fifth year of Tang Yuanhe and has a history of 1200 years. It is one of the four academies in Song Dynasty. Zhao Kuangyi and Song Taizong named it "Shigu Academy", which is as famous as Suiyang Academy, Bailudong Academy and Yuelu Academy. It has been the favorite place of literati since ancient times. Su Shi, Zhou Dunyi, Zhu, Cai Runan and other historical celebrities have all taught here. Li Daoyuan, Zeng Guofan, and others have all come here to give lectures, write poems, engrave inscriptions on walls, or find a secluded range rover, which is spectacular.

Shigu Academy has a stone drum about two meters high. Li Daoyuan's Notes on Water Classics records: "There is a stone drum six feet high, and Xiang Shui wears it. The drum sound is a mutiny." At present, Shigu Academy is mainly composed of Yubei Pavilion, Wuhou Temple, Daguanlou, Hejiang Pavilion and Zhuling Cave. The eight sights of Shigu Academy are: the morning light in the east rock, the night toad in the west rock, the steaming wind in the green, the falling snow, the sound of Jiangge books, the fishing fire singing at night, the dead vines on the plank road and the beautiful scenery of Hejiang.

3. Yan Hui Peak

Yan Hui Peak is located in Yanfeng District, Hengyang City, on the bank of Xiangjiang River, the first of the 72 peaks in Nanyue. The ancients always thought that the wild geese from the north stopped flying south when they arrived here, and only waited for the next spring to fly back to the north, hence the name Yan Hui Peak. Du Fu once wrote, "Wan Li Hengyang geese will return to the north this year". Yan Hui Peak is close to the highway-railway dual-purpose bridge on Xiangjiang River in Hengyang, and stands on Yan Hui Peak, which not only overlooks the bridge, but also has a panoramic view of Hengyang city.

Yan Hui Peak Scenic Area is a collection of classical gardens. There are many scenic spots in the scenic area, such as Hengyang Biaoyan Carving, the Millennium Ancient Temple Yanfeng Temple, the landmark building Yan Hui Pavilion in Hengyang, and the birthplace memorial hall of Wang Chuanshan. The beautiful scenery with Yan Hui Peak as the main body, "Yanyu on the Wild Goose Peak" ranks among the eight scenic spots in Hengzhou, and "Wild Goose in Pingsha" is one of the eight scenic spots in Xiaoxiang. The "wild goose culture" of Yan Hui Peak has a long history, and "wild goose"-shaped buildings can be seen everywhere, including wild goose carving, wild goose pavilion, wild goose gallery and wild goose wall.
