Wulin, the old name of Hangzhou. Up to now, "Wulin" is still an important place name of the nickname in Hangzhou, Hang Cheng, such as Wulin Road, Wulin Square and Wulin Gate. The name of Wulin originated from Hanshu and was related to Wulin Mountain in China. Ban Gu's Hanshu Volume 28 Geography records: "Wulin Mountain, where Wulin water goes. East into the sea, eight hundred and thirty miles. " It is generally believed that Wulin Mountain is the general name of Hangzhou in Lingyin and Tianzhu, which is probably the origin of Hangzhou's ancient name Wulin. "Wulin" is also called "Tiger Forest". It is said that in the Tang Dynasty, it was changed to "Wulin" to avoid Li Hu's taboo, and "Wulin" was recorded in the previous Hanshu and Jinshu.
Qiantang is the ancient title of Hangzhou, which is now called "paradise on earth". Since Qin unified the whole country, a county has been set up at the foot of Lingyin Mountain, which is called Qiantang, belonging to Huiji County. It was not until the Sui Dynasty was established in the ninth year of Emperor Kai (AD 589) that the abandoned county was a state, and the name of "Hangzhou" appeared for the first time.
