What is the most regrettable thing that happened during your trip?

The most regrettable thing is that I didn’t see the scenic spots I originally planned to see due to various reasons. Traveling should be a happy and joyful thing, but because of a small conflict, I had a quarrel with my best friend who was traveling with me. , causing the trip to be interrupted and ended on an unhappy note.

A trip to Hainan with my best friend has been planned for a long time. So during the summer vacation of my high school graduation year, my best friend and I started our trip. Because we didn’t want to be rushed all the way to Hainan, we decided to go alone without hiring a travel agency and arrange the itinerary ourselves. When we graduated from high school, we didn't have much money, so we asked our family for some travel expenses, and then we embarked on the long-awaited journey. Before going, I had already made a detailed travel guide, including daily itinerary, hotels to stay in, and several must-visit attractions. For example, Yalong Bay, Tianya Haijiao, Betel Valley, Qionghai and several other scenic spots. We also bought round-trip train tickets in advance because there were too many people during the summer vacation and we were worried that we wouldn’t be able to buy tickets. Moreover, our travel funds were limited and we couldn’t buy flight tickets.

Although the train ride took a long time (probably more than twenty hours), our joy and joy continued unabated along the way. When we arrived at our destination, we started looking for a hotel to stay in. We were amazed by the scenery along the way. The owner of the hotel is also very nice. The scenery in Hainan is really great. Looking around, the sky is clear and pure and blue. It really looks like a fairyland painted by an artist. But who would have thought that on the penultimate day of the itinerary, when we were about to go to the long-awaited Yalong Bay, it suddenly started raining heavily and strong winds blew. I heard from the locals around me that a typhoon was coming. I had no choice but to stay in the hotel, watching the heavy rain outside, and I couldn't go there. I was really anxious at that time, especially hoping that God would stop raining. However, the typhoon blew all day long, and the rain stopped in the evening. , my best friend and I were very disappointed, and we were infinitely annoyed. (We had already bought tickets to go back the next afternoon.) We couldn’t go to the place we had been looking forward to for a long time, and I felt really unhappy.

However, this was the beginning of a rough journey. Because of this incident, my best friend kept complaining to me, saying that my itinerary was not good enough; complaining about why I didn’t include going to Yalong Bay Beach on the first day of my itinerary; saying why I didn’t ask her opinion. At that moment, I was really angry and sad. I couldn't suppress my inner dissatisfaction. I yelled at her, saying that she was really unreasonable. She didn't participate in the arrangements before I came. She had to do everything from me. She was always procrastinating during the trip. Procrastination, now blame me. After hearing this, my best friend said something that made me extremely heartbroken. She said that I didn't know how to respect people at all and didn't know how to listen to other people's suggestions. She didn't want to be a good friend with me. Next, there was a constant cold war. For a whole night, no one paid any attention to the other. Even when we went out to eat, we always found places to eat. That night, my best friend and I both couldn't sleep.

The next day, we had no intention of continuing our trip, so we packed our bags and went to the train station early. Misfortunes never come singly. While waiting for the train at the train station, my best friend's wallet was stolen. At that moment, my best friend couldn't help crying loudly. Seeing this scene, I couldn't help but hug my best friend, and in an instant, I couldn't help crying. Fortunately, my best friend's ID card was not in her wallet but in her bag, so it didn't affect her plan to go home. Afterwards, we apologized to each other on the train, admitted our mistakes, and were forgiven by each other. The friendship between my best friend and I has not changed, but our trip has left too many regrets.
