I have just arrived in Chengdu. Where can I go on a self-driving tour in the mountainous areas near Chengdu?

After reading many answers, the most recommended one is Puhongkou in Dujiangyan, and it is named Qiu Mingshan, which is really ridiculous.

In recent years, I have basically traveled all over the mountain roads in the Longmen Mountains and Qionglai Mountains. If you are looking for excitement, Figure 1, 2 Wenchuan Yingzui Rock, Figure 3, Wenchuan Sanjiang Town to the scenic spot, Figure 4, National Highway 213 to the 5.12 earthquake outbreak point, Figure 5, Qingbaijiang Qingquan Town to Jintang Shicheng, Figure 6, Balang Mountain, Figure 7, Wenchuan County Xuankou Town to Qingcheng Houshan Mountain, Figure 8, Pengzhou Gexian Mountain to Bailufan There are too many exciting routes from Yakou to Shifang Bajiao, from Yinghua Town to Zhongding Temple, to Xiamakou, and out of Hongbai Town.

These can all be completed within one day from Chengdu.

I can recommend you a one-day tour route in Hongya County, Meishan City, Sichuan. The Wawushan Tourist Resort Loop can also lead to the Emeishan Tourist Resort Loop. There are many bends and the route is narrow. Friends who are traveling by car can take the road. Slower! I wish you a happy self-driving trip: don’t drink when you drive, don’t drive when you drink

If you like to run on mountain roads, then you have come to the right place in Chengdu. Chengdu is located in the west of the Sichuan Basin, close to the Longmen, Qionglai, Daxianling and other mountain ranges. Going northwest, due west, and southwest of Chengdu, you can see various famous mountains and rivers after an hour's drive. Below I will briefly list a few routes for your reference. For your reference.

My first recommendation is the route from Dawei via Jinshan to Baoxing. This route mainly crosses Jiajin Mountain, which is the highest snow-capped mountain that the Red Army passed during the Long March. The pass is 4,114 meters above sea level. It is currently known as Jiajin Mountain Scenic Area, but there is no admission fee. The roads have been fully repaired this year and are in good condition with fewer vehicles. The road is a typical winding mountain road with a large elevation climb. When I passed by in June this year, the sun was shining brightly below, but the top of the mountain was still covered with ice and snow. There is a long section of the road that winds around the top of the mountain, with a wide view, rising clouds and mist, and spectacular scenery, which can be compared with some sections of 318.

The second recommendation is to drive from Qionglai over Yuanbaoshan to Dachuan. This road was rebuilt after the Lushan earthquake on April 20, 2013. The road is in good condition, with two lanes and guardrails. However, the road is tortuous, with many turns and steep slopes. The scenery along the way is beautiful, the vegetation is dense, and there are not many vehicles. There are many places where it is worth getting off the car and taking pictures.

Finally, let me introduce the nearest place. Although the altitude here is not high, it is relatively steep, with many steep slopes and sharp turns. The road conditions are average, with two lanes. Sometimes it is inconvenient to miss another car, so it is suitable for training driving skills. That is Zhaogong Mountain in Dujiangyan.

The map navigation for the above three roads is very clear, so I won’t go into details here.

There are countless mountain roads near Chengdu with different scenery. If you feel that it is not enough, you can also take a walk along National Highway 317 and 318. There are many mountains above 4,000 meters above sea level, and the mountain roads are full of twists and turns, which will surely satisfy you.

I also like to go to secluded places during my free time. When I go to such places, I will inevitably walk on mountain roads. Therefore, for more than ten years, I have traveled some mountain roads near Chengdu. Let’s talk about my self-driving I’ve walked through it for your reference.

1. Go west from Chengdu towards Dujiangyan. There are several roads to get there, including free express lanes and tolled highways, and you can usually get there in about 40 minutes.

1. Qingcheng back mountain, navigate Qingcheng back mountain. At the largest intersection in Daguan Town, Dujiangyan, it is said to be a street, but it is actually a passage leading to Dayi and Chongzhou. There is a traffic light intersection and you turn right into the embrace of the mountains. The scenery along the way is beautiful, and the mountains outside the window are rolling.

There is also a winding mountain road that leads directly to the back mountain, but you have to choose a morning and evening duty point without obstruction to turn left from the mountain gate of Qingcheng Mountain Scenic Area. There is usually a duty station at the mountain canal outside the mountain gate, because this road overlaps with the scenic road.

2. Jiezi Ancient Town, navigate to the ancient temple. Now that you are all in Jiezi Town, you might as well take a look at the quaint old streets. Then enter the mountain from here. This mountain road is shorter than the back mountain road, but it is steep and winding.

2. Go south from Chengdu, in the direction of Longquanyi. This side is also crisscrossed by roads, with more roads to choose from. This side is hilly and has shallow slopes, and the mountains are not as majestic as the direction. Basically, we are driving on continuous hilly roads.

3. Go north from Chengdu, towards Jintang. Navigate to Jintang Yunding Mountain Scenic Area. Driving along the river, one side is surrounded by mountains and the other side faces the river. As we approach the scenic spot, the mountain road gradually becomes steeper and we wind around the mountain villages. The mountains are undulating and the peaks are vying for beauty. Stop and enjoy the scenery while walking, and before you know it, you will reach the end point of Ciyun Temple. In the golden autumn season, there are two thousand-year-old ancient ginkgo trees in the temple with lush branches. When the leaves turn yellow, they complement the red wall and black tiles, which is really beautiful.

These places not only have the mountain roads you want, but also have beautiful scenery. They are suitable for self-driving sightseeing. The length of the journey is controllable, and you can combine them at will according to your own hobbies and time.

1. I am also from out of town and traveling by car. I recommend Qingcheng Mountain in Jianshan District. It is very mountainous and has eighteen bends on the mountain road. It is quite fun. It is not recommended for novices. Then Jiezi Ancient Town. Drive up to a temple, Giant Panda Base. The parking fee from the back mountain of Qingcheng Mountain to the ancient town is 10 yuan. If you are skilled, you can go up there. If you are not skilled, you can park in the ancient town. The entrance fee to the ancient town is 20 yuan. The ancient town is very small and not interesting. You can only climb mountains or take cable cars.

2. Huanglongxi Ancient Town, I feel it is the best ancient town in Sichuan. There is no admission fee of 20 yuan per visit.

3. If you like a quiet place, you can drive to a reservoir in Dujiangyan. There are ethnic minorities inside. There are many small scenery near Dujiangyan. It is recommended to drive. The road is relatively small and the mountain road has eighteen turns. It depends on your skills.

4. There is a Shuimo Town in Wenchuan County. There were very few people there last month. The scenery along the way was nice. The two lanes are amazing for people from the east, but the road is quite crowded. There are very few people in the ancient town, including ethnic minorities. There are many places to get in for bacon and other things, but they are too steep to go there.

If you want to be more excited, you can walk in the direction of Garze Prefecture. There are many dirt roads from Danba to Dangling and Mosca!

There are few cars on Longquan Mountain Old Road G318 to Shijing Temple Longquan Lake.
