Can South Korea resume tourist visas in 2023?

As for South Korea’s entry policy, I believe many friends should know that the entry policy has been adjusted and changed, and the issuance of tourist visas will resume on June 1. But just today, on May 23, 2022, South Korea made adjustments to its entry policy. Please see below for the details.

1. Adjusted entry policy. Confirmation) or a rapid antigen test negative report (RAT, AG, Antigen) issued by a professional testing institution (hospital, etc., home self-testing is not recognized) within 24 hours before departure.

1. The sampling time must be used as the criterion. The nucleic acid test report must be issued in Korean or English.

2. The inspection item column of the nucleic acid test report issued in other languages ??must be in Korean. or issued in English. The name on the report must be consistent with that on the passport.

2. Necessary materials for nucleic acid testing

1. Name

2. Testing method

3. Test results

4. Issuance date

5. Date of birth (or passport number, ID number)

6. Testing date

7. Name of testing agency

3. South Korea’s testing and epidemic prevention process

1. Those who have been vaccinated in South Korea must register and be certified in advance in the quarantine information pre-registration system Q-code to avoid entry quarantine. Those who have received WHO-approved vaccines in countries other than South Korea will be exempted from entry quarantine after being registered and certified in the system.

2. Passengers with valid Q-code declaration results do not need to fill in the "Special Quarantine Declaration Form" and "Health Status Declaration Form". Passengers without Q-code approved results are still classified as Korean passengers and long-term passengers. Non-Korean tourists who are staying will be quarantined at home for 7 days, and non-Korean tourists who are visiting for a short period of time will be quarantined in a centralized quarantine for 7 days (at their own expense), except for those who hold a quarantine-free consent form issued by the Korean government.

4. Can be exempted from submitting nucleic acid test report (not applicable if body temperature exceeds 37.5 degrees):

1. Infants and young children under 6 years old as of the date of entry (limited to traveling companions) All persons submit PCR negative confirmation certificates).

2. Passengers holding a quarantine-free consent form issued by the Korean government.

3. Passengers who are refused entry to the destination country after departing from South Korea will be repatriated.

4. Based on the date of departure, Korean passengers who have been diagnosed within 10 to 40 days before departure (only confirmed by PCR test and other gene amplification tests, excluding those who are positive by antigen test) and have completed treatment , foreigners who have been in Korea for a long time.
