Red Cliff is a series of films directed by John Woo in 28 and 29, starring Tony Leung Chiu Wai, Takeshi Kaneshiro, Zhang zhen, ZhangFeng yi, Zhao Wei, Lin Chi-ling, Hu Jun and Nakamura Shido.

The film is divided into two parts, Red Cliff (I) and Red Cliff (II), which were released on July 1th, 28 and January 7th, 29, respectively. The upper part finally earned 312 million yuan in China, while the lower part earned 251 million yuan, with a total box office of 58 million yuan.

Director Wu Yusen won the Golden Lion Award for Lifetime Achievement at the 67th Venice Film Festival and the Outstanding Contribution Award for Chinese Film at the 12th Shanghai International Film Festival. The film won the 13th China Film Watch Award, the Best Foreign Language Film of the Las Vegas Film Critics Association, and the Best Foreign Language Film of the Japanese Daily Film Award, and was selected as "Watching China in Movies".
