I took the photo at 1pm. The light is too strong. The weather is very hot. Remember to wear sunscreen, otherwise it will turn into black carbon when you come back. It is recommended to take it at 4pm. The weather is not hot and the light is relatively good.

Route arrangement:

Xiamen Tourist Passenger Terminal Zhangzhou Pier, buy tickets on site (15 each)

You can take the big ship at the cruise center ground parking lot toll station (8 yuan a boat) to Zhangzhou Ferry Terminal. It takes about 15 minutes to arrive by speedboat and 40 minutes by large boat. It is recommended to take a speedboat. After arriving at Zhangzhou Port, many local drivers will ask where to go. It takes about half an hour to get to Huoshan Island (30 people) by carpooling.

Tickets: Tickets purchased at the entrance of the scenic spot (60 yuan each) do not include the museum. If you just take photos, tickets are no problem. There are tour buses (20 per car) available for purchase in the scenic area. If you don’t want to walk, you can take a tour bus.

Accommodation: It is recommended to travel on the same day. One day is enough. If you are afraid of running out of time, you can take a one-day tour (light video tour), leave Xiamen, pick up and drop off at your hotel, and return on the same day.

Photography attractions: Pink Promenade, Land in the Sky, Bali Bird's Nest, Swings, Glass Balls, Colorful Hot Air Balloons, Yellow Minibus, Pink Museum. There are so many scenic spots to take pictures, and every shot is a beautiful blockbuster.

Summary: The transportation from Xiamen to Huoshan Island is not convenient, but the environment and niche advantages are still worth a visit. Visiting Guide

We had to walk more than 500 meters before we reached the ancient crater. There are some recreational facilities on the roadside, such as go-karts, forest bikes, shooting clubs, forest mazes, and many places where Internet celebrities take photos. By making a geological park look a little nondescript, it loses the true scientific appreciation value of the volcano.

Follow the signs, start climbing, and go down the steps. Halfway up the mountain, there is an observation platform with a sign that says ancient crater and a photo description. I could see a big weird looking gap in the front. It's black and charcoal and has an overall oval shape, like a chair, with one side tall and the other flat. The crater is 200 meters long and 70 meters wide. Due to its age, the protruding part of the crater is only half the outline and is not the complete circular cave I imagined.

The interior of the crater is funnel-shaped, 4 meters deep, and is tightly supported by sea water. Although the shape of this ancient crater that we modern people see is not perfect, it is still rated as the best-preserved ancient crater in the world and the most scientifically studied crater. The strange thing is that the maritime volcano has experienced 15 eruptions, and all that can be seen now are the remains of the last three eruptions.

When the tide is high, the water will be hidden, and when the tide is low, it will be completely exposed.
