Seeking English short story translation
There was once a Frenchman who traveled to England. This man speaks average English. One day, he went to a small village and had a good time there. At lunch time, he went to a small restaurant. He wants to order some eggs, but he doesn't know how to say the English word "eggs". Suddenly, he saw a rooster outside the window.
"What's its name?" The Frenchman pointed to the rooster and asked the waiter.
"That's a rooster," the waiter replied.
"What is the name of the rooster's wife?" The Frenchman asked again
"It's called a hen."
"What about their children?" The Frenchman asked again.
"They call chickens." The waiter told him.
"What was the name of the chicken before it was born?"
"They are called eggs." The waiter responded.
"Finally …" the Frenchman shouted, "Now please bring me two eggs and a fish."
Ah, a great circle of humor.
