How to get to Daocheng Yading from Shangri-La

Generally speaking, whether you go to Daocheng by car or plane, you choose to start from Chengdu, which is economical and fast. How to get to Daocheng Yading from Shangri-La? There are three routes as follows

1. Zhongdian - Geza Township - Xiaoxueshan - Ranwu Township - Xiangcheng - Sangdui - Daocheng?

中 Dian - Geza (asphalt road, 36km) - Daxueshan Pass (gravel road, 80km) - Xiaoxueshan Pass (gravel road, 45km) - Xiangcheng (asphalt road, 70km) - Sangdui (asphalt road, 80km) -Daocheng (asphalt road, 28km) -Shangri-La Town (asphalt road, 78km)

2. Zhongdian - Benzilan - Derong - Xiangcheng - Sangdui - Daocheng?

Zhongdian-Derong (asphalt road, 142km)-Xiangcheng (gravel road of Highway 30, 157km)-Sangdui (asphalt road, 80km)-Daocheng (asphalt road, 26km)-Shangri-La Town (asphalt road, 78km) Zhongdian-Langdu-Shangri-La Town, ***180km. The road conditions on this route are extremely poor. Off-road vehicles can pass from Gezan to Langdu, but other vehicles cannot pass. Moreover, the driver is required to have certain plateau driving experience.

3. Zhongdian-Geza-Shenchuan Copper Mine-Langdu-Sizigong-Kas Village-Shangri-La Town

Zhongdian-Geza (asphalt road, 36km, 1 hour) - Langdu (gravel road, 60km, 3 hours) - Sizigong (gravel road, 25km, 1.5 hours) - Kas (asphalt road, 5km, 10 minutes) - Erchu Mountain - Shangri-La Town (asphalt road) Road, 65km, 2.5 hours)

These places are some very beautiful places. If you want to go directly to Daocheng, the shuttle bus runs once a day (November 20th - April 1st of the following year), departing from Shangri-La Passenger Terminal at 7:30 in the morning, and the fare is 112 yuan/person. The ticket is not expensive. But just in case, you can still go to the bus station to book a ticket one day in advance.

Transportation: You can take bus No. 1 or 3 to Shangri-La Bus Terminal, or you can take a taxi for 7-8 yuan or a van for 5 yuan.
