In European and American countries, travel agencies are generally divided according to their business scope. One view is dichotomy, which divides travel agencies into three categories: travel dichotomy operators, travel wholesalers and travel retailers. Another way of saying this is to divide travel agencies into two categories: tourism business and travel agencies.

Nature of travel agency:

For-profit, service and intermediary. Generally speaking, a typical product life cycle has five different stages:

(2) Product introduction stage

(3) product growth stage

(4) product maturity stage

(5) product decline stage

The characteristics of travel agency products: intangibility, non-necessity, coexistence of heterogeneity and similarity, non-storability and overall inseparability.

Travel agency products are divided into:

(1) All-inclusive tourism products (2) Half-inclusive tourism products (3) Small-package tourism products (4) Zero-package tourism products (5) One-way consignment service.
