? Cheddar Cheddar is a mysterious place in England. There are Cheddar Canyon, the largest canyon in England, and Cheddar people who were alive 9000 years ago.

Recommended days: one day is enough for the whole tour, and two days is best if you need rock climbing and canyon hiking.

Cheddar Canyon is the largest canyon in Britain. 1903, the Cheddar Cave Group was discovered, along with the oldest intact human remains in Britain more than 9,000 years ago, known as Cheddar Man.

? A survey of the most beautiful areas in Britain shows that the Lake District of England ranks first, followed by the Scottish Highlands, and the little-known Cheddar Canyon ranks third. Cheddar Grand Canyon Village is also known as the most beautiful village in Britain (students who are used to seeing the beautiful scenery in Britain go to the canyon to see why this village is called the most beautiful village in Britain).

? The earliest place where humans lived in Britain (Gucheddar skeleton).

? 1997, the earliest human skeleton in Britain was unearthed in the caves of Cheddar Canyon. According to the research of archaeologists, the verifiable historical record of British residence has been advanced to 9000 years ago. It was a man who lived in the Paleolithic Age. He lived in a cave in Cheddar Canyon. This is not surprising. The more surprising thing is yet to come.

? From 65438 to 0999, British biologists and archaeologists conducted DNA tests on residents living in Cheddar Canyon. The results showed that the descendant of this ancient Cheddar (skeleton) still lives in Cheddar Village today, and his descendant is a teacher today. Therefore, some British people joked that China is an older nation than Confucius. The teacher is in the cave where the cheddar cheese remains were found, and just half a mile away, King Wessex Community School teaches English history. In other words, the Gucheddar people 9,000 years ago still live in today's world.

? Descendants of Cheddar who lived 9000 years ago, he still continues his family. After being discovered, he didn't like being exposed by the media and disturbing his life. This unknown teacher is still teaching at school. When you meet the descendants of the ancient Cheddars, you can only expect to meet unexpectedly.

? Cheddar, this is a holy place for hikers and climbers. How to get here? How to play?

Please see Cheddar Canyon Raiders:

How to get there:

1, it takes about two and a half hours to drive from London to Cheddar Canyon. Generally speaking, except in July and August in summer, when entering Cheddar Canyon, the speed is slow and the road conditions are good in most cases. After entering the canyon, there are many parking spaces and you need to pay. Various ways to find the path, Google Maps, are not detailed here.

There is no direct train to Cheddar Canyon. You need to get there by bus in Weston-Super-Mare, or you can get there directly in Bristol, or take a taxi.

3. It is not recommended to take the bus. Living nearby is not bad. Reasons for not recommending: because vehicles need to shuttle through the narrow English countryside, especially on weekends, there are few trains. It is inconvenient to change trains many times.

Live broadcast:

? B& amp; Recommended to live in the English countryside; B, they are almost uniform standards, very clean and comfortable. There are many hotel reservation websites on the Internet, just search them. If you book in advance, you can find a local homestay in Cheddar Village and enjoy the local customs.

Pay attention to eating in front:

? In Cheddar village, there are two kinds of food that must be tasted. Taste local cheese and Starr wine.

? There is a kind of cheese in the world called Cheddar Cheddar, which is almost synonymous with cheese. This cheddar cheese is produced in Cheddar Canyon. Its characteristics are specifically introduced in my previous article. Its taste, in a word, is fat but not greasy, and it will be memorable in three days. The ancient Cheddar cheese workshop in Cheddar Village is open to the public. After the visit, buy some cheese to see if it is delicious or smelly. People who haven't eaten cheese should be prepared.

? There is a kind of wine in the world called Sida cider (beer made from fermented apples). There is a legend in Europe that once Cedar wine from Cheddar, England, comes on the market, the streets and alleys in Europe will be filled with the smell of Cedar wine. Cedar wine is sold in roadside shops in Cheddar Canyon. The packaging styles are diverse and the price is very close to the people.

? In addition, you can't miss the local beef and mutton. The local beef and mutton have a taste of New Zealand. The meat is tender and tender.

Recommended scenic spots in the canyon:

? When I first went, I didn't make a strategy. I like this aimless wandering, meeting strange people and scenery unexpectedly. I have been there many times, and according to my hobbies, I found that there are many scenic spots around Cheddar Canyon. If there is not much time, you'd better do it in advance.

1, Cheddar Canyon Cave

? Cheddar Canyon Cave, the most famous cave in Britain. There are grotesque stalactites and stalagmites here, which make people admire the magic of nature, as well as the largest underground cave and the largest underground river in Britain. In this cave, the ancient Cheddar skeleton discovered in 1997 pushed the history of the inhabited British island to 9000 years ago. It is said that this is the most primitive Englishman living on the island of Great Britain. What is even more amazing is that this descendant of Cheddar 9000 years ago still lives in a small town. After visiting the cave, I walked into the town and met the descendants of old English 9000 years ago.

2. Cheddar Ancient Town

? The ancient town of Cheddar is mainly concentrated in the generation of Cheddar Canyon, and it feels like you will stop when you think of the canyon. There is a Cheddar Lake not far away. The scenery is not bad, but it is good to know. This is a paradise for water sports and an entertainment area for sailing enthusiasts. If you don't row, don't row, it is not strongly recommended. As a tourist, you can choose. For sightseeing routes in the town, you can ask for a map of local hiking routes at the information desk of tourist attractions. There are many hiking routes to choose from in the town.

3. visit cheddar cheese factory

? Visit the making process of cheddar cheese, with a special person leading the introduction. Be prepared before you walk in. Smells like stinky tofu. But this operating procedure is world-famous, and the cheese here is very popular in Europe. Since I'm here, I should have a look.

4. Cheddar Exhibition

? This exhibition hall is very small, mainly introducing the Cheddar unearthed 9,000 years ago and the process of discovery, research and verification. The remains of ancient Cheddar found in Cheddar Cave are also on display here.

5. Cheddar watchtower

? On the hill of Cheddar Canyon, there is a watchtower that can see the whole Cheddar Canyon. There is nothing special about this tower. After boarding it, you can see the distant scenery around Cheddar Canyon. But this is a must-see place for tourists, and its happiness lies in the process of boarding the ship. If you are afraid of rock climbing, try climbing the Cheddar Canyon on a steep slope. This is where you won't be disappointed. You can climb the mountain and enjoy the constant surprises along the way.

6. Cheddar rock climbing and steep slope rock climbing

? After entering Cheddar Canyon, you will find many Spider-Man slowly climbing the cliff of Cheddar Canyon. This is a paradise for British climbers. Every year, climbers from all over the world challenge Cheddar Canyon and experience the fun of rock climbing.

Suggestion:

(1), experienced climbers, please ask the local climbing club to know about the cliff and try again.

(2) Those with good physical strength can climb with their bare hands on a steep slope of 60-70 degrees (I have tried, and my physical strength is good). There are two climbing routes in the parking lot in the middle of Cheddar Canyon. The infinite scenery is on the dangerous peak, and the pleasure of climbing the mountain can't be described in words. Reminder: Be sure to do what you can. This route requires some skill and physical strength. In the process of climbing the mountain, we should do a good job in physical distribution (personal experience).

(3), beginners, people who want to challenge and try. You can participate in rock climbing activities protected by security officers and coaches in Cheddar Canyon. There will be very safe protection measures. It is not only an attempt to climb a cliff, but also very safe.

My climbing experience in Cheddar Canyon:

? The slope of the canyon I climbed is about 70-80 degrees, and only a small part of the cliff is about 90 degrees. Common sense tells us that climbing this cliff requires not only courage but also tools. Because it was a temporary decision, it was a unarmed climb without any equipment at all.

? I don't think I'm taking a risk. I firmly believe that climbing with my bare hands is my innate ability.

? However, unexpectedly, I am really old.

? Looking at the height of Cheddar Canyon, I looked at it contemptuously. My wife and I bragged that the slowness of climbing up and down was really nothing. Hum!

? Of course, I misjudged my ability. After the event, you should reflect on yourself and put safety first. I haven't climbed such a steep hillside for about twenty years. Twenty years ago, climbing this cliff should be a cinch. I climbed a 90-degree cliff with my bare hands. Although the hillside I chose in front was steep, it should be ok.

After charging for an hour and a half, it stopped on a third of the hillside. Suddenly I feel that I have lost my original strength and momentum, and I feel dizzy and my hands and feet are a little weak. The body is slowly slipping and falling. Keep telling yourself to be steady, slowly choose a suitable stone buckle and give yourself a time to hold your breath. Feeling better gradually, I looked back. Unexpectedly, this is another major wrong decision. As soon as I look back, I get dizzy. Looking at the small figure at the foot of the mountain, my hands went soft again, and it was dark in front of me. I told myself in my heart to hold on and stick to it. Letting go is crushing! Yamashita's wife doesn't know what happened to me here, and she is still waving to me excitedly.

Honey, I'm dizzy-I'm dizzy!

? I don't know how long it took, but it feels like centuries. In fact, it may be about ten minutes. Physical strength has recovered, and I have gradually adapted to the fear brought by height.

? Later, I was faced with two choices: First, I went down the mountain immediately. Second, keep climbing. I made the right choice in life, upward. Twist your body again, look for exposed stones that can be caught outside the hillside, climb your ankles, slow down and slowly push up.

? Anyone who wants to challenge nature is overreaching. Facing the mountain, I can only say that I have defeated myself.
