How to make picture books by yourself
1, A4 paper, several colored papers (two colored papers according to 20 pages of white paper per person)
2, stapler, tape
3. Ten picture books of different sizes
Second, explain the production process.
The first step is to create a story. Ask students to create a story with draft paper, about 200 to 300 words. Students who can't create can continue to write picture books they have seen; Or find an adaptation of a story you have read, such as Andersen's fairy tales and Bible stories. This seems to be the blueprint for making picture books, just like acting needs a script.
The second step is to mark the page number on the text. After the story is written, page the text, that is, how many pages should these words be written? If you need 10 pages, then this picture book has 10 pages. If there are no design pages, these pages without text should be added to the body.
Step three, get the paper. After the students finish numbering the words, they go to the podium to get the papers. If a story created by a classmate is marked as 10 page and two pages are designed without words, then his text is 12 page, plus the front cover, back cover, two butterfly pages and title page, then it is12+1+2. (2 Butterfly pages can be made of colored paper or white paper. The copyright page can be shared with the title page or the back cover)
The fourth step is paper cutting. After receiving the paper, students choose one picture book from ten picture books with different sizes, and cut it into A4 white paper according to the size of the picture book. For students with poor painting skills, it is recommended to make small-sized picture books.
The fifth step is to bind the picture book. After cutting the paper, simply bind it with a stapler and number the book (except the front cover, back cover, butterfly page and title page). If two students make a picture book together, there is no need to bind it, which is convenient for the later division of labor and cooperation.
The sixth step is painting. Use the tools you are good at, such as stick figure, sketch, watercolor, crayon, gouache, etc., to draw from the text. Draw first, then add words.
Step 7, fill in the text. When all the pictures are finished, start to fill in the text, paying attention to the correct writing of the text; The placement position should be coordinated with the picture.
The eighth step, finally complete the design and production of the front cover, back cover, title page and copyright page.
Step 9, bind. When all the pictures and words are read, finally, the picture book is completely bound. When binding, in addition to binding with a stapler, you can also wrap the spine with tape for protection.
Third, teachers' guidance in the production process.
1. Students are advised to invite partners. Two people can publish a book, but not more than two people.
2. For students with poor ability, teachers need to tutor them alone, or introduce them to students with strong ability, so as to complement each other's advantages, help each other and reduce difficulties.
2. Give reasonable suggestions to the stories created by classmates, so that the text structure is complete, the expression is smooth and meaningful. Because the picture book is assisted by pictures, the words don't need to be too full, leaving some narrative space for the pictures.
4. When students receive the test paper, check their mastery of the picture book structure. Many students often lose the title page when calculating the papers they need.
In the process of paper-cutting, the teacher reminds students to cut neatly, otherwise the bound book will be uneven. It's best to align with a ruler, tear off the excess parts, and then cut them carefully with scissors. This is an easy step. If you don't pay attention, you have to start again if you don't cut the paper properly, which wastes paper. Most students above grade four can finish this process alone. For children with weak hands-on ability, teachers need to demonstrate actions.
6. In the process of drawing, the teacher reminds students to pay attention to layout design. The picture should not be too small, there should be a lot of blank space, and it should not be too big to make the page too full, so leave space for the text. The layout of each picture still needs attention, which is more difficult for primary school children. They pay too much attention to details and ignore the overall situation. It is suggested to draw with a pencil before coloring.
7. In the process of making copyright pages, teachers can specifically explain the meaning of copyright pages to students, such as what is "distribution"? The two important concepts of "edition" and "book number" enable students to clearly understand the commercial operation of a book.
Making picture books is a very meaningful thing, and it also tests children's patience and carefulness. In their words, it is summed up as: "This process is difficult, but it is very interesting." You may not be able to make a very successful picture book the first time, but you can make a more exquisite picture book with more practice.
