The building itself

Architectural story

The predecessor of Shanghai Tianchan Yifu Stage can be traced back to 19 12 "Xinxin Stage" at the intersection of Hubei Road, Jiujiang Road, and then moved to 1925 at the intersection of Yunnan Middle Road, Fuzhou Road, renamed as "Daxin Stage", which is one of the oldest and largest theater performance venues in Shanghai. From the 1920s to the 1940s, many famous and influential figures in the history of Peking Opera appeared here, leaving unforgettable moments. Tianchan is located at No.701Fuzhou Road, Huangpu District, southwest to northeast. The original architect is Wooten Pat Stone Architects Shanghai, and the original structural designer is Corrit, which is famous for its basic engineering. Now it is a cultural relic protection site in Huangpu District.

1925- 1949 is the stage of Tianchan, covering an area of about 2,000 square meters, with a building area of 6,207 square meters, including a performance area of 3,602 square meters. 1950 due to the business depression, employees took the initiative to set up a "temporary management Committee of colleagues" to manage self-help. In June, 1954, 1 1 was officially taken over by the state. The theater was named Runrun Stage of Tianchan Peking Opera Center and reopened at 1994.
