Where is the mausoleum of Qin Shihuang?

Mausoleum of the First Qin Emperor

Located in Lintong County, Xi, about 35 kilometers away from the city, it is the mausoleum of Qin Shihuang. 1987, listed in the world cultural heritage protection list.

This cemetery was built for 37 years from Qin Shihuang's accession to the throne to his death. The mausoleum is large in scale and imposing, with two cities inside and outside, and the south is the center of the cemetery. The inner city is square with a circumference of 2525.4 meters, and the outer city is rectangular with a circumference of 6294 meters. This tomb is a square cone with a base of 5 15 meters, a width of 485 meters from east to west and a height of 55 meters. The total area of the cemetery is 210.8 million square meters. There are large-scale palaces and pavilions in the cemetery. As the tomb has not been excavated, the actual situation in the tomb is still a mystery. According to Records of Historical Records, after Qin Ershi ascended the throne, he ordered craftsmen to "take mercury as his father's tomb, and instill it in the machine, with astronomy on the top and geography on the bottom ..." The relevant departments conducted a preliminary exploration of Qin Shihuang's tomb, and indeed found a strong mercury anomaly. 1982, within the range of 152000 square meters in the middle of the enclosure, the mercury anomaly area of 12000 square meters was circled, thus confirming the relevant records in Chinese history books. 1974 the Qin pottery figurines found on the east side of the mausoleum caused a sensation in the world. However, these terracotta warriors and horses are only a small excavation for the huge mausoleum, and there are still rich cultural relics buried underground to be excavated.
