Mount Fuji has erupted 18 times since written records were recorded in 781. The last eruption was in 1707 and has been dormant ever since. The two craters on the top of the mountain have formed two beautiful volcanic lakes, and at the foot of the mountain there are various caves left after the volcanic eruption.
