China’s largest source of tourists is South Korea!

The National Tourism Administration released the inbound market statistics for 2014. Overall, the number of tourist arrivals to China in 2014 was close to 130 million, a slight decrease from 2013. Among them, compatriots from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan accounted for 79.49%, and foreigners totaled 26.3608 million. The number of visitors from Taiwan compatriots increased. The top three countries with the number of visitors were South Korea, Japan and the United States.

The number of inbound tourists from the top fifteen countries:

South Korea (4.1817 million), Japan (2.7176 million), the United States (2.0932 million), Russia (2.0458 million), Malaysia (1,129,600), Mongolia (1,082,700), Singapore (971,400), Philippines (967,900), India (709,900), Australia (672,100), Canada (667,100), Germany (662,600 people), Thailand (613,700 people), the United Kingdom (604,700 people), and Indonesia (566,900 people).
