The significance of China-Russia Tourism Year

Currently, according to age classification, Chinese people’s understanding of Russia can be divided into two categories. One is the middle-aged and elderly people who are over 40 or 50 years old. Many of them have a "Soviet complex." I have a certain sense of identification with Russia, I am more interested in the new changes in Russia, and I am more objective in my cognition. The other group is young people under the age of 20 or 30, who are relatively indifferent to Russia. Young Chinese people do not have enough understanding of Russia's strategic importance, and they do not pay enough attention to Russian cultural traditions and educational levels. By holding the "Russian Tourism Year" event, the Chinese people can learn more about Russia. The holding of the "Russian Tourism Year" event in China is believed to attract more Chinese people, especially young people, to be interested in Russia and enhance their understanding of Russia.

The strategic cooperation between China and Russia used to be mostly reflected in international affairs, and the content of bilateral cooperation seemed relatively empty. What's more serious is that, except at the highest political level, the understanding between the people of both sides still remains at the impression left by each other during the former Soviet Union. Therefore, the framework of China-Russia strategic partnership needs to continuously add new content such as "National Year", "Russian Tourism Year", "China Tourism Year", etc.
