How are China tourists in Switzerland now?

Switzerland is a very beautiful European country. You can find your own inspiration and the rhythm of rural life here, and you will face exotic customs and distinctive cultural characteristics. Now, during the new pneumonia epidemic, Swiss tourists from China are not banned, and you can still travel here. So what should China tourists stranded in Switzerland do and how can they return to China?

On February 4th, 2000, Swiss National Tourism Administration issued a letter to colleagues in the tourism industry and tourists from China, in which it was mentioned that "Swiss Tourism Administration, together with relevant Swiss departments and associations, is making every effort to reduce the burden on China's tourism partners and tourists from all over China" and "China guests have no entry and travel restrictions in Switzerland". The specific contents of this letter are as follows

Dear colleagues in the tourism industry, dear tourists from China,

The Swiss National Tourism Administration was shocked and saddened by the huge impact of the novel coronavirus epidemic. Together with other countries in the world, we hope to completely eliminate the epidemic as soon as possible and overcome difficulties. Switzerland fully abides by the positive measures taken by the World Health Organization, especially the relevant departments in China. Swiss tourism, together with relevant Swiss departments and associations, is making every effort to reduce the burden on China's tourism partners and tourists from all over China.

The Swiss National Tourism Administration and the Swiss Hotel and Catering Association called on Swiss tourism service providers to provide maximum understanding and support for the cancellation of reservations due to the pneumonia epidemic in China.

The epidemic affects people's hearts. We update our travel information and warm tips, hoping to help your trip to Switzerland.

If your trip to Switzerland is still planned/not yet made:

Therefore, the novel coronavirus epidemic has affected friends who originally planned to travel. Please contact the platform channel you booked. According to the notice of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of China, after June 27th, 2008, all outbound group tours and machine wine services will be suspended.

Unfortunately, due to this epidemic, a valid visa that can't be used can't be used after it expires. If you want to postpone your trip, please apply separately before departure.

Up to now, Switzerland has no entry and travel restrictions for China guests.

If you are already in Switzerland and affected by the epidemic, when you return:

Swiss introduced new measures to extend visas in response to the novel coronavirus epidemic.

If you are in Switzerland and your flight cannot leave the country and return to your original place of residence as scheduled due to the epidemic, the immigration offices of Swiss States can extend the visa for qualified passengers. The application conditions are as follows:

1. Enter Switzerland with a valid Schengen visa;

2. Due to the sharp decline in the epidemic situation in novel coronavirus, the flight cannot return to its original place of residence;

The Schengen visa will expire on or after the cancellation of the original flight.

Visitors who meet the above three conditions at the same time can apply to the current state immigration bureau.

Non-Schengen residents can apply for a visa valid for 180 days, and the actual stay will not exceed 90 days. The specific extension period is held by the state immigration offices.

Application materials to be submitted:

1. A valid passport (valid for at least 3 months from the original scheduled departure date of the return flight) and the corresponding Schengen visa;

2. Travel health insurance covering the whole stay as much as possible;

3. There is no proof of return flight (such as communication records with travel agencies or airlines).

The immigration offices in each state charge visa extension fees according to regulations.
