Huizhou was formerly known as Huiyang area (Huiyang for short). In ancient times, it was known as "a famous county in Lingnan", "the gateway to eastern Guangdong", and "half city with mountains and half city with lakes". With large local state-owned (holding) enterprise groups such as TCL, Desai and Huayang, as well as local private enterprise groups such as Qiaoxing and Fushen, digital and petrochemicals are Huizhou's two major economic pillars. Huizhou City is located in the south-central part of Guangdong Province. Dongjiang River, one of the three major river systems in Guangdong, and its tributary Xizhijiang River run through the territory. It currently governs two districts, Huicheng District and Huiyang District, and three counties: Huidong County, Boluo County, and Longmen County. There is a national-level economic and technological development zone in Daya Bay District and a national-level high-tech industrial development zone in Zhongkai District. Huizhou is an important settlement place for the Hakka people. Ye Ting, Liao Zhongkai and others were born here, and the literary giant Su Dongpo of the Song Dynasty once lived here. On the banks of the West Lake, one can still feel the melancholy of Su Shi after his demotion; at the foot of Luofu Mountain, one can still see the endless stream of pilgrims in the past; in those ancient villages hidden in the mountains, the blue bricks and black tiles reveal a kind of decadent beauty. , the faded carved hollows look even more lonely in the afterglow, carving out the marks of history; the bay meanders along the endless sea, and the beautiful mountains and rivers continue the alternation of the four seasons... This is Huizhou, and you can only go there with your heart. Only by experiencing it carefully can you discover its beauty.
