This book means a lot to me. It never occurred to me that I found the answers in this book for most of the problems or puzzles or even knots that appeared in my study in this major for more than one year!

Problem awareness is very important. In the process of reading, I found that we had many opportunities to ask many questions. Most of the time, I deal with a chaotic state. In fact, I should sort out my confusion bit by bit and let it appear in the form of one specific question after another. The process of reading this book is the process of sorting out a question step by step and finding the corresponding current answer. I'm also rethinking, why didn't I make it clear in advance?

I think there are two reasons. One is the mentality of negative complaints. Faced with the present situation, I fell into the whirlpool of complaining too much and failed to keep a clear head and analyze the problem. I just keep asking why tourism is recognized as a sunrise industry, and tourism is booming, but tourism management is marginalized by schools. Will there be no problem with talent training and talent supply? Why do we feel that after studying for more than a year, we have gained little, and we feel that we have learned nothing, or even nothing. Why have we learned so many complicated courses, but we haven't touched on the most essential core knowledge about tourism, or have no systematic explanation? After studying for so long, it's like floating on the water, and the slightest ripple will make us fluctuate up and down? Our foundation is unstable, even without foundation. These questions actually provide some explanations in the book. The introduction introduces the history and present situation of tourism research and makes a comparative analysis with foreign countries. The history of tourism salt research in China is actually very short, that is, more than 40 years since the reform and opening up. The immaturity of tourism research is as follows: mainly application-oriented and hotspot-oriented; There is a gap between the quality and quantity of academic research; Foreign research has begun to be detailed, while China's research framework is large and the content is mediocre. When talking about the maturity and discipline system of tourism discipline, the author points out that China's tourism discipline has changed from multi-disciplinary participation in tourism research to interdisciplinary, so it has not achieved real integration or effective integration. However, at present, there are different opinions on the construction of the discipline system, which has not been widely recognized by the academic and educational circles. The system established according to the author's logic of taking tourism experience as the core is perfect and clear, but it needs to be popularized and verified.

Second, the foundation is unstable because we don't have the most basic and core theoretical system. When we are faced with many cases, we can't grasp the core and ask clear questions. Unstable foundation is actually a more essential and deeper reason, but before reading this book, I always thought that the curriculum of our school was the focus of teachers' design and teaching, as well as personal study habits. Later, it turned out to be a big problem, a discipline problem! In fact, they are all controversial issues, but this issue is so critical that it has a very obvious impact on the study of ordinary students like us.

For the first time, I applied the method of mind mapping to the reading and learning of this book. The advantage of taking notes with mind maps is intuitive and clear. However, the content to be recorded is very logical and the content structure is clear. As a professional book and teaching material, this book by Xie Xueren is very different from the teaching material I am studying at present. The purpose of this book is not only to tell me what is what, but also to tell me why! How did this view and this knowledge come from? So I can better understand this knowledge and have a deeper understanding. This is an advantage that many textbooks lack, but it may also be to facilitate typesetting, make the whole page clearer, and the thickness will not "convince" readers. Indeed, this book has more than 300 pages, close to 400 pages, which is relatively thick in the textbook. However, it depends on the purpose. The clearer the handwriting, the better for learning. Except for the first time, when describing this knowledge, the sentences used by the author are very easy to understand, which makes the original professional books seem less unattainable and truly grounded.

Books are the carrier for scholars to treat our scholars. In addition to the knowledge gain, I admire the author's knowledge and wealth, and more importantly, I also realized the author's personality charm and bearing style. People who can do more work can take on more responsibilities. On the basis of many revisions of Basic Tourism by scholars, the author shows an attitude of striving for perfection. When analyzing the present situation of China's tourism industry, I deeply analyze it, dare to put forward my own system, and have the spirit of innovation and the sense of tackling difficulties. "It is much easier to destroy a finished product than to conceive and make a new thing. When writing this book, the author just wanted to make an effort, but he never dared to be self-righteous about the result. However, the author still insists on one thing, that is, in view of the imperfect subject system, confusion or lack of concepts and limited accumulation of research results, we can't solve the problem in a piecemeal way, but we must have a systematic view and tolerance. Therefore, this book has the greatest influence on me and strengthened my belief in tourism or tourism research. After I know the current "misery" and feel the author's determination, I am willing to do it. This is the power of faith.
