Niuwei Qiangzhai is a national AAA-level tourist attraction.

Niuwei Qiang Village is located in the west bank of Minjiang River in Taiping Town, the northern end of Maoxian County, with an average elevation of 2,350 meters and 70 kilometers away from the county seat. The Qiang population in the village accounts for 95%.

The origin of the name Niuwei Qiangzhai is related to the war. In the course of thousands of years of history, the Qiang people living in stockaded villages are heroic and invincible in northwest China.

In recent years, Niuwei Qiangzhai has been increasing infrastructure construction and striving to build a boutique tourist village of Niuwei ancient Qiang tribe.
