Details of Chinese permanent grave factory in Tseung Kwan O, Hong Kong, thank you.

Hong Kong is short of land resources, so it is not easy to find land for cemetery use. At present, there are about 4 cemeteries in Hong Kong, more than a quarter of which are made up of food and environment. The public cemeteries under the jurisdiction of the Department of Health (formerly the Urban Council or the Regional Council) and the private cemeteries managed by different religious and ethnic groups, four of which are directly under the jurisdiction of the Chinese Permanent Cemetery Management Committee, namely the Aberdeen Chinese Permanent Cemetery, the Tsuen Wan Chinese Permanent Cemetery, the Chai Wan Chinese Permanent Cemetery and the Tseung Kwan O Chinese Permanent Cemetery.

On June 16th, 1913, a group of enthusiastic Chinese were allocated nearly 1, square meters of land in Aberdeen by the government, and immediately raised funds to build the first Chinese permanent cemetery. The cemetery was officially opened on October 17th, 1915. It was named Aberdeen Chinese Permanent Cemetery to bury Chinese Hong Kong permanent residents. In order to properly plan and manage matters related to cemeteries, this group of Chinese even set up a cemetery management committee (hereinafter referred to as the committee), which was agreed to be chaired by the then Secretary for Home Affairs of the Chinese people, and operated in a self-financing mode. Serving the Chinese in Hong Kong for almost a century, Huayong Club has entrusted Mr. Gao Tianqiang, a local historian, to conduct in-depth research and collect and sort out the information of historical celebrities buried in the Aberdeen Chinese Permanent Cemetery (Aberdeen Cemetery) in pursuit of the founding history. Dr. Ding Xinbao, a famous historian in Mongolia, wrote a reading guide, and Huayong will publish the research results in Fu Zi. "Mountain Scenery-Establishment of the Chinese Permanent Cemetery in Aberdeen and Related People" was published by Huayonghui in both Chinese and English. It introduced the establishment process of the cemetery in Aberdeen and related people, as well as many celebrities buried in this cemetery, such as deeply admired former Peking University President Cai Yuanpei, an important political figure in the modern history of China, and Shou son Chow, who was an official in the Mainland and a member of Parliament in Hong Kong. From this, we can also see the status and role of Hong Kong.
