Benxi covers an area of 84 1 1.3 square kilometers.

Benxi City is a prefecture-level city under the jurisdiction of Liaoning Province, located in the southeast of Liaoning Province. It belongs to a humid climate zone with four distinct seasons, with a total area of 84 13.96 square kilometers. By the end of 2022, the resident population of Benxi City was 654.38+0.267 million, and the urbanization rate of the resident population was 79.86%. As of June, 2023, Benxi City has jurisdiction over 4 districts and 2 autonomous counties, and the seat of the Municipal People's Government is Maple Leaf Road 188- 1 Hi-tech Industrial Development Zone.

Benxi belonged to Qingzhou and Yingzhou in Xia and Shang Dynasties, Xiangping County in Liaodong County in Qin Dynasty, Xuantu County in Eastern Han Dynasty, and changed hands several times in Wei and Jin Dynasties and hundreds of years later. In the Tang Dynasty, it belonged to Liaocheng, the capital of Anton, and later to Bohai. In the Yuan Dynasty, it belonged to Liaoyang County, Dongning Prefecture of Liaoyang Road, and in the Ming Dynasty, it was under the jurisdiction of Liaodong viceroy.

City introduction

In the thirty-second year of Guangxu in Qing Dynasty (1906), Benxi County was established. On July 25th, 1992, the State Council approved Benxi as a "big city". Benxi City is known as "Yandong Shengjing", as well as "Qinggang Capital", "China Medicine Capital" and "Maple Leaf Capital", with six business cards of "strange caves, famous mountains, Xiushui, hot springs, maple leaves and folk customs".

It is one of the "Double Heritage" cities in China, with the world cultural heritage Huanren Wunv Mountain City, 5/kloc-0 national-level scenic spots such as Shuidong, Grand Canyon, Wunv Mountain, Linfeng Valley, Huaxi Mu, Guanshan Lake and Tieshan Mountain, 3 provincial-level tourist resorts, 7 national key rural tourist villages and 43 provincial-level boutique homestays. It is an excellent tourist city in China.
