Sichuan-Tibet Line Route Map

National Highway 318 is a national highway that starts from People’s Square in Huangpu District, Shanghai, and ends at the Sino-Nepal Friendship Bridge (Zhangmu Port) in Nyalam County, Shigatse, Tibet . It is an important transportation line across China from east to west across various landforms such as plains, hills, basins, and plateaus. Various natural landscapes and humanistic cultures blend together along the way, forming the most "beautiful landscape avenue with Chinese characteristics"

Line 38 has a total length of 5,476 kilometers, running through Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Anhui, Hubei, Chongqing, and Sichuan , eight provinces of Tibet. Now, it is not only an important transportation line, but also an important hub for cultural exchanges and tourism.

Hailuogou Glacier and Hot Spring

Hailuogou is located in the southeast of Garze Prefecture, Sichuan Province. It is the first stop from Chengdu to Lhasa. It is 360 kilometers away from Chengdu and can be reached in 6 hours by car. Gongga Mountain is known as the "King of Shu Mountain" and is the highest and most spectacular glacier waterfall in China. There is a huge modern marine glacier museum, large and small hot springs, lakes and rivers. You can also soak in hot springs on the glacier in winter.

Dadu River and Luding Bridge

Feel the thrill of the Red Army’s Long March crossing the cable bridge. Luding Bridge is no longer what it used to be. After passing Erlang Mountain, you can see the Dadu River. Luding Bridge is on the Dadu River. Kangxi named it "Luding Bridge" here. The bridge is 103 meters long and 3 meters wide. 13 chains are fixed in the wells on the abutments on both sides of the bridge, 9 of which are bottom chains and 4 are handrails on both sides. There are 12,164 iron rings interlocking with each other, and the iron parts of the entire bridge weigh more than 40 tons. Those who are interested in history and culture can come, and tickets are not expensive.

Ranwu Lake and Laigu Glacier

Ranwu Lake is famous for its tranquility and blue color. Although it is a lake, it is extremely colorful. It is surrounded by meadows, forests and mountains, with green grass and blue sky and white clouds. The smoke is thick in the morning and the sunset is most beautiful at dusk.

Lingzhi Peach Blossom

March and April are Linzhi’s Peach Blossom Festival. The winter in Tibet has not completely passed yet, and the peach blossoms in Nyingchi are already in full bloom. You can enjoy the scenery of the small Jiangnan town on the snowy plateau. During the Peach Blossom Festival, you can also enjoy singing, dancing, wrestling, horse racing, and archery with the locals to experience a unique New Year entertainment.

Maoya Prairie

Maoya Prairie, especially in June/July. Maoya Grassland is located in the west of Litang. After leaving Litang, the world's largest city, you can see a vast grassland ten kilometers west. This is the Maoya Prairie in Honglong Township, Litang. In summer, Maoya grassland has experienced the rooting and sprouting of spring, and the wild grasses and wild flowers on the grassland are blooming. Standing on the highway, you can see patches of green, white and red. Ten thousand yaks are grazing leisurely. The Wuliang River in Litang flows happily from Monster Mountain to the roadside of Maoya Grassland. Feel the mountain water in the water. It's cold, but clear. This is the true meaning of ice and snow melt water. I took out my suitcase from the car and placed a POS machine casually on the roadside. This was a very big road. Therefore, I highly recommend the Maoya Prairie in July! This point is ignored in many road trip strategies to the Sichuan-Tibet Line. The Maoya Prairie is one of the best places to shoot and play on the Sichuan-Tibet Line in my opinion.
