Akita dog originated in17th century and was named after Akita Prefecture. They are calm, confident, docile, easy to train, loyal to their masters and families, and have a very stable personality. In Japan, they are used as fire dogs, and now they have become very popular domestic dogs all over the world, and they have always been the most popular dog breed in Japan!

The original Japanese dogs were all small and medium-sized and there were no large breeds. Akita dogs (medium-sized bear hunting dogs) have been used as fighting dogs in Akita area since 1603.
